The Castle Hotel

London, Britain

March 6

1200 hours

I had been awake for an hour already, which was too early for me. Erica had been awake for even longer, she was the first one up, followed by Zoe, and finally me and Mike. "Okay guys," Erica said, "Today you're gonna get a tour of the secret passageways of London. I already know all of them, so I will be guarding Joshua and Murray." "Both of them?" I asked. "Yes, both of them." Erica replied. Joshua and Murray were currently sound asleep. Then Cyrus suddenly barged in. "Let's go!" he announced. "You know," Erica observed, "you don't know the passageways either." Cyrus turned red. "I will know them by morning!" He spluttered. Zoe and Mike stifled their laughs. Erica smiled smugly. I wasn't so lucky. I burst out laughing. Cyrus glared at me. "Is something wrong Ben?" he asked dangerously.

When we got to the lobby Catherine led us to the right wall. Then she flicked a hidden light switch and a door opened. An hour later Catherine led us to a bridge. "Ok, Erica, you take Joshua and Murray on top of the bridge so they can't see and guard them." Erica nodded. She dragged them onto the bridge, Murray protesting that he was on their side and that he didn't need to be guarded. Catherine was just showing us how to open a hidden latch on the bottom of the bridge when Murray fell over the railing, screaming. We could hear the sounds of battle on the bridge. "Erica!" we all gasped. "She's all alone up there, and by the sound of it, she's fighting several SPYDER agents!" We rushed into the bridge.

Erica was fighting Joshua. Joshua was shouting at the other agents to stand down, this was his fight. But Erica was at an disadvantage, with his metal arm and leg, Joshua was stronger than her. But I found it weird that he wasn't shooting at her with his metal arm. In fact, it was weird that he didn't free himself earlier. He wasn't even tied at the restaurant. He could easily have pulled his arms out of Erica's grasp and run away. Then suddenly, Joshua punched Erica in the arm with his metal hand, hard. Erica screamed in pain, but still fought. Catherine gasped. "Erica!" I screamed. "I'm fine." she hissed. "Run away!" I didn't buy it for a second. She was definitely in pain. "I'm not leaving you!" I yelled. "You can't fight! Just go! You're only getting in the way here!" she pleaded. She fended off a kick from Joshua and launched her own. She nailed him in the stomach. He doubled over, the wind knocked out of him. Erica gasped and grabbed her arm. "I'm staying here!" I insisted.

I knew I was being stupid, I was only getting in the way. But I couldn't leave her. "Don't be stupid! Just go!" she yelled. She had a point, but I still wouldn't leave. Just then, Joshua kicked her in the stomach. She lost her balance and coughed out blood. And, to make matters worse, she landed on her injured arm. She screamed as her arm hit the pavement. "Erica!" I looked around for the others, we couldn't win against so many agents. And Erica certainly couldn't fight right now. The agents started forward to capture us, but Joshua lashed out an arm, stopping them. "Wait!" he ordered. "We're not supposed to capture them yet." he finished. Later? Why? What did SPYDER need us for? Erica jerked wildly on the ground. She really injured. The SPYDER agents walked off. Then Joshua looked back. "Take care of Erica." he said before hopping into a car and driving off. Erica was hurt. All of us rushed to her side. We were all worried. Catherine and Alexander were pale. For once, I was the first one to get to work.
