The middle of the jungle

Yucatán Penninsula

March 3

1500 hours

It is 3pm and I am so frigging tired. I was up the whole night thinking about what Joshua had said. Why Britain? What was SPYDER planning? How would we find out why Joshua betrayed the CIA? And why did he? Erica had her own way of dealing with this, she had 'dropped by' my room in the middle of the night to discuss ideas. Joshua had been tied up in her room for the night and she had said she couldn't sleep with him there. I understood, so we had talked until morning. And now I regretted it. Erica, however, was currently dragging Joshua to his window seat next to her, I was sitting in her other side. Mike, Zoe, and Alexander(Erica's father, who was a lousy spy) sat in the row on the other side of the isle. Our private jet(courtesy of the MI6) was about to take off. Murray groaned from his isolated seat at the back of the plane, "Why does Joshua get to sit next to Ben and Erica, he's the bad guy. Not me!" Cyrus grunted from the cockpit, "Well you're not exactly Mr. Trustworthy either." "Well," Murray countered, "You could put Ice Queen over there in this seat, after all, she likes being alone." "Erica needs to guard Joshua." Cyrus said matter-of-factly. "Good point." Murray conceded.

I was completely exhausted, but Erica insisted that I make sure Joshua didn't try to talk with her without me butting into the conversation. Joshua heard this and sulked the whole ride. Near the end, however, I managed to get some sleep. When I awoke, we were close to Britain. Erica looked tired, but couldn't sleep because she had to guard Joshua, by the time I woke up, she had almost dozed off. I offered to watch Joshua for her so she could get some sleep, saying that I would wake her up if he tried anything. She reluctantly agreed, and leaned back to sleep. She deserved to rest, she hadn't slept for 4 days. I talked to Mike and found out that I had been asleep for a whole day. I also found out there were only 30 minutes until landing. Great, less time to watch Joshua. Those 30 minutes were the slowest half hour of my life. In the first minute after Erica fell asleep, Joshua asked for water, insisted that if I didn't give him a good breakfast, SPYDER's extended due date to pick him up would be shortened greatly, and asked for me to wake Erica up 5 times.

It was like Joshua only acted remotely not annoying to Erica. I spent the next 5 minutes trying to convince Mike and Zoe to hand me a chloroformed hankerchief to knock Joshua out. Unfortunately, I failed. I can't believe my best friends would leave me to suffer Joshua's demanding like this. I felt betrayed, 5 more minutes passed. Only 19 more long minutes to go. One thing I learned from this experience was that even evil geniuses like Joshua like to play cards. But I realized something, before, during the interrogation, Joshua had said that SPYDER would pick him up at 4pm that day. Now they had extended that deadline. Why? I mean, it was lucky, sure, but it still seemed a little suspicious. As I was pondering, thanks to my uncanny sense of time I realized that we only had 15 minutes until landing. I began to grow excited, and nervous. I was going to Britain with my two best friends, and Erica. But we were on a mission to take down the most cunning and dangerous organization the CIA had ever encountered. Without their help. It suddenly dawned on me that this mission would be extremely dangerous.

A/N: Still rereading my fanfiction. And my writing is still sooo bad! But it got a little better compared to the first chapter. Thanks for reading!
