"What's happening to him Gendo?" Misato asked
"He's bringing back up that one memory over and over again"
"What memory?"
"Auska"
Everybody in the HQ stood or sat still and silent until Misato broke the silence
"You don't mean"
"Yes, yes I do"
"He must be feeling like he's been tortured to the limit"
Why this one memory why does it have to play over and over again, why couldn't it have been me seeing Australia blow up from the second impact. anything but this memory.
(In mind)
"You could've saved me and never let my memory disappear"
"But you stopped me"
"What are you talking about it meant save me" she said as blood started to run down her arm
"Why are you torturing me"
"This is your memory. this is what you regret. this is what you fear. this is what you hide in the deepest darkest place in your mind."
"Get out of my head" I shouted
(Outside of mind)
"Ritsko what's happening the beam of light is fading away?" Misato asked
"I don't know but he's doing something about it"
Everybody looked at my Eva they couldn't believe what they're seeing. the light was fading, my mind wasn't hurting the memory had disappeared once again. I looked at my hands there was nothing no blood I anything not even holes. I looked up to see that the beam of light had disappeared and so had the angel.
"Angel has been terminated" a voice said
I ejected my pod and landed on the ground. I sat there thinking about that memory, why did that one come up. I heard my plug door being open and I sat there waiting to see who it was.
"Thank god you're alright" Auska said
"Thanks for openin the door but aren't you still in shock from what just happened"
"No because you're still torturing me" she said as blood started running down her arm again
"Stop it get out"
"What did I say?" she cautiously asked
I rubbed my eyes to see it was the real Auska. I couldn't say anything to her but that was when I noticed she was wearing that necklace that I have her a year ago.
"You're wearing it"
"Wearing what... oh you mean this necklace"
"Yes"
"I don't remember how I got it though"
"I got it for you"
"You could be lying what carrot is it?"
"3/4 diamond"
"How"
"I bought it for you... how about we just go"
"Yea sure" she said as she extended her arm to pull me out
I grabbed her arm and saw blood running down it.
"Why do you think I'm alright you know nothing about me"
I let to of her arm and sat in my plug with my hands over my ears and curled up in a ball.
"What's happened to Philip Gendo?" Misato asked
"He's going through mind reciting"
"What's that?"
"It's were you recite the most deepest darkest memory in your mind" Ritsko replied
"And that memory is Auska blowing up"
"Yes I'm afraid it is"
I sat there in silence with Auska at the door way of my plug looking scared.
"Just leave" I quietly said
She heard me and walked off I didn't know what to say or do after that I just sat there.
Next day
I woke up in a hospital bed and noticed the room was pitch black. I tried to see my surroundings but i couldn't.
"Nurse" I yelled out
The door opened and beams of light shot in and hit me right in the eye.
"Why's my room pitch black?" I asked
"Because there are markings on the wall that you made while you were asleep and we didn't want you to see them"
"Can you turn lights back on for me please"
She turned them on and my vision was blury but then I saw something.
"Don't shut me out, you did this to me, you can't change that"
"GO AWAY" I yelled
"Me?" the nurse said
"Turn the lights off" I quickly said
But before the lights went off she said
"You cant keep shutting me out ph..."
I lay there on my bed scrunched up into a ball.
"Please leave nurse"
"Ok" she said as my door closed
It has been a week I've stayed in that hospital bed in the darkness and haven't moved out of it. now and then Shinji and Misato come in to see how I'm doing, I'm fine around them there's nothing wrong. but one day Auska came in.
"Hello"
"Hello mr careless"
From those words I knew who it was.
"Why did you come?" I asked
"To see how you are. anyway why is it so dark in here I can't see a thing" she said while walking to the light switch
"Don't turn it on"
It was too late she flicked the light on and walked over to me.
"Why shouldn't I have switched it on"
"Don't worry"
She sat down on my bed and started talking about what's happening outside, but then she laid down next to me and started crying.
"What's the ma..." I got cut off by her kissing me
I looked at her there was something wrong
"Come out of the hospital. come back to the apartment we all miss you."
I sat up and looked at her she sat up as well. She came closer to me and gave me a hug. I rested my arms on her back and said.
"I'm coming back"
