Yesterday, (Sat. 3/2/2019), was a great day! I had a competition for Solo Ensemble, where you sing/perform a piece by yourself or with friends and you can either rate at a Division 1 (1st place), Division 2 (2nd place) or a Division 3 (3rd place), based on how well you sang. I did a solo and I sang the "The Water is Wide" which is a folk song. I sang it in front of a professional judge, who asked if I wanted to sing the piece first or do scales. Scales in music term are basically singing different notes in a certain key. I was bad at them but she was patient with me. Then, I sang my piece and then she judged my performance. She said I sounded amazing and was surprised that a girl my age sang so professionally.
I met some friends there, from my school and we talked a bit and I watched other performances. I checked my entry number for what placement I got and....
I got a Division 1!!
I was so happy because last year I got a Division 2, but I got a 1st this time! I also did 8th grade and I got a first there as well but this was big for me, because it was more professional than the time I did it in 8th grade. The teachers and some of the kids congrtaulated me and I felt so happy that I got a first. I don't have pictures but my dad did record it. But I can't share it because it won't work on here.
Anyways, sorry, I just wanted to rant for a bit about my day. How was you guys' day?
