Prologue

I have seen the future, not just of our planet, but in the greater unknown, and it isn't so pretty...you never had to face them, but almost a decade ago, I have heard legends about them...and they plan to return someday.

Even after thousands of years, centuries after the Earth has turned into a barren planet known as the "Shiver Star" world and humans have roamed and conquered in other areas of the universe...there is still a hatred, an undying rage that plagues them, and they will stop at nothing to retrieve what they have lost...even if it means travelling back and possibly destroying this already broken timeline...after so long, it seems they finally received the message of what occurred...if they find the Phase Distorter and figure out how it works, the future will become a deadly place not just for us, but for all the living creatures in all the galaxies...

They will find me, no doubt about that, which is why I must leave now with the Distorter and travel back to when this all started, before Ness was the chosen one. If something is to go wrong, which it most likely will, I will have my long list of backup plans to unweave myself from the web I have been tangled in.

They will mistake me for the man who wronged them, but that will be the least of my worries. I'm sorry to leave you so soon, considering the little amount of time we knew each other, but I have to right the wrong before it's too late, and you know that I do not truly belong here anyway...but I promise I will return, whether it's here or to my son again...stay strong, Lucas...even with no more threats on our beloved planet, take care of everyone and stay on your guard, because you never know what may occur...
