Chapter 3 - The Kooky Scientist

The man must've noticed the two holding the spear and sword, so he quickly said, "Oh ho ho! Don't worry, I'm not gonna hurt you two!"

"Ah." Bandana Dee put down his spear and Kirby released his sword ability.

"A little help, please?" He asked, reaching his arms out. The two puffballs pulled the man out with all their might until he popped up, the three of them rolling down onto the ground.

"Oh, thank you so much...um..." the man was astonished from these creatures, "...Where am I? And what types of creatures are you?"

"I'm Bandana Waddle Dee," the Waddle Dee said, "And this is Kirby."

"Poyo," Kirby said as he smiled and nodded.

"You're in Dream Land, the largest country here on Planet Popstar!"

"How interesting..." the man said to himself. He was intrigued on how the orange creature that had no mouth could talk and how the pink creature with a mouth could only speak one word.

As for Kirby and Bandana Dee...they were amazed to see a human. They have obviously seen a human before, Adeleine is one of their closest friends, but they were amazed to see a human that wasn't from Popstar. Plus, from his appearance, he was definitely a scientist, and thankfully not a mad one.

"Oh, excuse me!" The man chuckled, "I'm so sorry, I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Dr. Andonuts, one of the finest scientists from the planet known as Earth!"

"...Earth?" Bandana Dee asked in confusion.

"Poyo?"

This was going to be a while.

Meanwhile...

Meta Knight was on top his Halberd, eyeing the sky for anything that could happen. Considering the countless disasters Dream Land has encountered, he felt it was his duty to be on full guard. As he searched around, there was a sudden bright twinkle in the sky, flashing multiple colors.

"That's definitely not a star..." the knight thought to himself.

"Meta Knight! Meta Knight!" two of his followers, a Blade Knight and Sword Knight, came running up to the top.

"What is it?"

"We've seen an unidentified flying object disturbing the skies of Dream Land!"

"There wasn't one UFO, there were several hundreds!!!"

"I can see them," the blue puffball replied in his deep voice, "I have eyes, too."

"What do we do?"

"Send out an alarm signal to alert all the civilians and King Dedede. I'll go look for Kirby..."

"Yes, sir!"

With that, the Blade and Sword Knights went back inside the ship to do their task, and Meta Knight flew off to search for the pink puffball.

(Back to Kirby and co...)

"So, you're basically saying that the planet Shiver Star used to be your home planet?" Waddle Dee asked while chewing on some pudding.

"Yes, indeed!" Dr. Andonuts replied.

"And you were using that...that time machine, a..."

"A Phase Distorter!"

"Right...to go back and change the past..."

"I know it's hard to imagine, considering how much a cold and barren wasteland it is now, but I unfortunately cannot change that. Even if I was able to reach my destination, my influence wouldn't matter."

"I see...wait...where were you going?"

Before the doctor could answer that, the sound of alarms were heard in the sky, and the two puffballs noticed the Halberd flying over their house.

"My, what is that?"

"Poyo..." Kirby muttered in a serious tone...

"The Halberd...if it's sounding an alarm, that means there's danger."

Suddenly, the twinkles appeared again, only now there were several of them, in the shape of a ring.

"Oh no...they found me..." the doctor said in fear as he hid under the busted Distorter door.

"Who's they?" Bandana Dee asked.

"Poyo!"

In a swift move, Kirby burped out another bubble with a yo-yo inside. Popping it, Kirby obtained the Yo-Yo ability. Bandana Dee ran over to his spear and picked it up again, fending for the scientist. Whatever was going on was not going to be pretty, to say the least.

"Stay on your guard, Kirby!"

"Poyo!"
