But I like you: part 1

The sun gleamed through my bedroom blinds as I opened my eyes. The rays formed a shadow on the wall. I could hear the sizzling of bacon coming from the kitchen. Finally, the weekend was here. I have to work until 7, and then the rest of the weekend was free. I hadn't told Deaky about the kiss between Roger and I, let alone that he kissed me twice. I couldn't stop thinking of his soft lips pressed against mine. I wanted it to last, but part of me is still afraid to trust him, and I'm worried about his intentions with me.
I pulled the comforter from atop of me and grabbed an elastic from my night stand, putting my hair in a low bun and tucking the strays behind my ear.
"Deaky, what are you doing up? you never make breakfast let alone this early—" I walked in to the kitchen and quickly came to a halt.
"Hey Y/N!" Brian waved
"Darling, you look like you've just seen a ghost," Freddie giggled.
"Hey... Y/N, how are you... uh doing?" Roger blushed.
Deaky just had a huge smirk on his face because he knew I was embarrassed, all I was wearing was a long band T-shirt with the Beatles on it. I grabbed it and pulled it closer to my thighs, and asked Deaky to grab a mug from the cabinet, so my T-shirt wouldn't rise up. He obliged, thankfully, and prepared to brew me a cup of coffee. Why were all the boys in our flat at this hour?! Why was Roger staring right through me? I ran into my bedroom and dug through my closet for a pair of shorts to throw on.
I made a reappearance in the kitchen, and grabbed my mug of coffee, sitting right next to Deaky.
"So, Boys what exactly are you doing here?"
"We called a band meeting, very important. Also I know Roger is dying to see you!" Brian spoke up, playfully punching Roger's arm.
Now Brian knows something is up too? I just tried to ignore the comment.
"Well, I'll be getting out of your way. I must get dressed for work."
"Oh no, darling. Please stay. I need your opinion on something," Fred begged.
"Well, shoot Fred. I'm all ears!"
"What do you think of the name Queen?"
I was clearly confused, "like Queen Elizabeth?"
"No! A new band name. For us?" He laughed.
"I love it. It's different." I said as I got up and grabbed a slice of bacon and put a pancake on my plate. I wasn't that hungry, but knowing work might be slammed and not being able to slip away, I should eat something.
I finished my last bite and put the dishes in the sink, "Hey John, I have to hurry and get dressed. I'm sorry!" I rushed in to my room, and slipped off my T-shirt and shorts and replaced it with my button up blouse, pants, and apron. I fixed my hair, and grabbed my name tag, I wanted to walk as fast as possible through the kitchen so Roger wouldn't see me. I shuffled quickly past the kitchen, and out the door.
"Oi woman, hey, slow down!" Roger said as I bumped into him taking a drag of his cigarette.

"Oh my god Roger, you scared me! What are you doing out here!?" Wow idiot, he's smoking. That's a dumb question.
"I'm taking a smoke break, where are you headed to in a hurry?"

"Work, I'm going to be late!" I huffed

"Let me take you, it's the least I can do for bumping into you." He gave me a look I've seen before, one that was so hard to resist. He looked down at me with that cheeky smile, green eyes glowing in the sunlight, and one of his hands stuffed in his pocket.

"Roger, that's very kind of you, but really I can manage walking 10 minutes down the road."

"No really, it's no problem. The boys won't even notice I'm gone, please Y/N?"

"Roger, no. I will see you later okay?" I frowned, as much as I wanted to accept, I didn't want to give the band any more of a reason to make banter about Rog and I.

"Fine. If you insist, but you better be there tonight." He winked.

"Or what Rog?" I played along, not sure what he was going to say.

"Or I'll come here after the show, and you don't want that. Or do you?" He said with a cocky smile, placing the cigarette between his lips. I just rolled my eyes, waving goodbye.

Work had been busy all day. Bussing and waiting tables wasn't my favorite thing to do, but it paid the bills to live in London and go to school, so I tried not to complain about it too much. Today just seemed like it was longer than all the others. The only thing getting me through the day was knowing that I was going to see the band later, especially Roger.

The last hour went by smoothly, and luckily I wasn't closing today, so I was able to rush home and get ready to go to the pub. The show started at 9, so I had time to grab some food and make an effort to look decent.

When I walked in to the flat, I saw that John was nice and didn't leave me a mess to clean up. Especially because those boys can get quite messy. He must be out with the band, doing a little bit of rehearsal before the show, not that they really needed much practice.

I showered, and headed toward my closet. I wanted to go for an alluring look, with a minxy flair. I put on my brown suede mini skirt, and paired it with a low cut bell sleeved, black top. As for the shoes, I went with black platform heels. I was tired of wearing my hair pinned back, so I decided on my natural hair, and parted it in the middle. A pair of earrings would tie the whole outfit together. As I stared in the mirror at the finished look, I sighed in relief, sitting on the bed for a moment.

*Roger's POV*

I've never met a woman like Y/N. I've never let a woman have this effect on me. Every time she walks into the room, my heart leaps out of my chest. She's the only one that I have to try for, I know I could have any girl in the pub that I wanted, but none of them are Y/N.

The way she was nervous this morning that I might of seen her knickers, or the way that I kissed her and she blushed afterwards. It's like I'm a sucker for her. That little minx has got me wrapped around her finger, and I plan on telling her how I feel tonight, I want to let her know that I'm leaving that ladies man persona behind, I want her.
