The Phone call

Shoto's POV:It's been 2 weeks into our investigation for the recent Blood ball that will commence in 3 days and we had to be ready at all cost.
Cheif Ida had just then walked into my office. "Todoroki, I've been meaning ask you,who are sending into the blood ball to gather intel on the Illusionist?"

I type away on my desk top,filling out a missing vampire's report not looking up not once. "I've got a kid, he's a gullible vampire but he's complied to help us" chief looked at me skeptically. "Are you sure that having a vampire spy is a good idea? what if he turns against us?!" I give Chief a look that said: *I know what the fuck i'm let me do my job* "Oh he won't and if he tries to i'll break his fingers for his sudden thought of betrayal and throw him in our dirtiest cell" I say jokingly with a straight face.

Kyoka then rushes in with a flustered look. "Chief,Ms.Yaoyorozu has arrived"  Cheif Ida nods and signal kyoka to bring her in. The woman walks into my office. readjusting her glasses and holds a clipboard in her right sir."Hello Cheif Ida it's an honor to finally to meet you,I admire your work" she smiles respectfully. "Thank you Ms. Yaoyorozu,while i'd love to give you a tour of our establishment,i have to head on over to city hall for a meeting, Shoto Todoroki, one our best Agents will fill you on our previous case" Cheif Ida shot me a glare that said:*Be nice it's her first day* Kyoka follows him. "No need to fill me in Mr.Todoroki, i've already revised the entire mission on the Blood ball and will be to join on this mission" My gaze looks up from my desk top. "Well since it's your first day on the job,you won't be joining me,YOU will be in the Investigation van Spying out for rouge vampires and be my eyes in places i can't see"

Yaoyorozu gives me an unsatisfied glare. "But sir i'm properly skilled! with my intellect and quirk this mission wi-"  I gave my new partner a dark glare. "I'm the lead of this mission,even if you are skilled, you're still a rookie! and i don't need you slowing me down" bringing my gaze back to my desk top i pick up my cell and call my spy "You may go,yaoyorozu" The rookie winced and walked away but not before yelling: "Jerk!"

Izuku's pov: I sit down in my seat listening to the instructor talk about ways to make Devils food cake (I'm studying to be a Baker) with a whipped glaze and zest.

For some i felt a lot safer at school than at home where that hunter could bother and harass me. I write down vigorous notes on the recipes that were given to me to try and bring in for homework.

I was having a good day until...

*Ring!*
*Ring!*
*Ring!*

I blushed deeply when everyone turned to look at me,i stood up slowly and excused myself and slipped away. My phone kept ringing and the caller ID made me pale.

Shoto Todoroki

I knew i had to answer.

"H-hello?"

"Where are you?" he asked.

"At school...w-hat do yo-"

"Our investigation starts tonight and you will be needed, Midorya what time do your classes end?"

I shudder at of being used for spying knowing full well i could be killed. "At 6" I answered.

"See you then" Todoroki said before hanging up.

I sigh and bang my head against the wall. The bell rang for lunch and I rushed back into the class and grab my bag and rush to the cafeteria.

Later that night when the last bell struck I dashed down halls quickly bumping into people clumsily. I hoped he wouldn't be outside,I hoped i could just go home and forget about this stupid plan and to forget about him.

*But something inside you doesn't want to forget him* 

"Not now voice!"

When i reached the last door and I greeted by the cool fall air...and that persistent hunter.
I twitched.

"Oh hey,i was just about to call you" Said Shoto walking up to with his hands in his pockets.
His gaze was still cold which was familiar but it had a tint of warmness to those eyes of his.

"Y-you know,i could've just met you at the operation" I said softly.

Todoroki's gaze raised a little and tilted his head to the side still glaring down at me.He doesn't trust me and i don't trust him,from what i've already observed i'm pretty sure some people in his job hate him.

"Oh trust me it'd be safer driving you there along with me,wouldn't want an ACCIDENT to happen if a certain someone refused to show up"

I gulped.
"I-i guess"

Shoto turned around and we walked to his car. He started the ignition and we drove away.

"I'll explain things once we arrive until then don't talk to me or even look understand?"

I scoffed in complete annoyance and glared out the passenger seat window.

*Jack ass* said the voice

"Jack ass" i repeated but then covering my mouth with a hand in shock. (The voice made me say it) Todoroki shot me a glare and I stiffened.

"Your not the first one to call me a name today" he said plainly.

"Yeah? well with your attitude,i probably won't be the last" I shot back.

Todoroki didn't say another word he purposely swiveled across the road and made me hit my head on the window and I groaned loudly in pain.

He smirked. 

*I like him*

"Shut up!" I winced.

"Who are you talking to?" He asked.

"N-no one" I said rubbing my forehead slowly.

We didn't say another word to one another for the rest of the drive.

A/N:Todoroki's a dick no? I like him this way and I gave Izuku some back bone too he's not too shy at all! He's gotten back bone while living in the cave for awhile so he's not afraid to put you on blast if he's irritated. Hope you liked this chapter
