Maddie's Perspective.

When I get back to our hotel room that night, god it feels weird thinking of it that way. Our hotel room, the room which I am currently sharing with my boyfriend... how did I manage to go from being the perpetually single girl who has never been in a relationship, to basically living with a guy in the space of just a couple of months? Anyways, when I get back to the room, Harry is sitting on the sofa, headphones on, Xbox controller in hand, cursing down the microphone loudly as whoever he is playing against takes our his character with a headshot, and he crumples to the ground.

"For fucks sake!" He swears, not noticing that I've entered the room behind him. "I swear I used to be good at these games, what the fuck happened to me? First Maddie beats my arse, and now I can't even win against you Niall!" he continues unhappily, tossing his controller to one side and slumping back in his seat.

Walking further into the room, I can see that he is clad in nothing but a fluffy white hotel towel which covers him from the waist down. His hair is still dripping slightly from his shower and is sticking up in all sorts of strange angles under the headset.

"Yeah yeah, whatever. You wait till next time Irish." He grumbles, clearly in response to something Niall has said that I can't hear.

Quietly I tiptoe up behind him, careful that my reflection isn't caught on the big screen TV in his suite and slip my arms around his neck, pinching both his nipples probably a little bit harder than is strictly necessary and making him nearly jump off the sofa in alarm.

"Fuck Trouble!" He shouts, rubbing his sore nipples unhappily as he turns to face me. "What did you do that for?!"

"You were being mean to Niall. I felt like I should defend him." I giggle wandering around the large cream sofa and settling myself down next to him.

"You've never even met him!" Harry exclaims, the headset still on, I hear a loud bark of laughter coming from the headphones. Clearly, Niall at least thinks I'm funny.

After hearing Harry's speech this afternoon at soundcheck, I've been in a considerably better mood than I have been the last few days. He really stood up for me, for us, but not only that, he did it in such a way that he didn't come across as the big bad boss telling everyone off, he seemed more disappointed than angry, and I think that really resonated with most of the crew that witnessed it as for the rest of the night I didn't hear another insult aimed at me which was just bloody lovely! Sure there were still some sly looks here and there, and a couple of people halted their conversations when I got too close, but I didn't expect everything to instantly change. No matter what Harry or anyone else says, people are always going to have their own opinions, and there's nothing we can do to change that, unfortunately.

Regardless just the simple fact that he would take the time to speak to everyone like that, to admit our relationship to everyone and ask for their respect and kindness just warmed my heart and reminded me that everything really isn't all that bad. So I determined that when I got back tonight, I would make more of an effort to get back to the happy fun girl that he fell in love with instead of the misery I've been the last few days.

"I might not have met him, but who can resist that Irish charm? Before I met you, he was my favourite member of One Direction." I continue to tease Harry, who looks at me with a mixture of shock and complete confusion on his face.

"She's got good taste that one!" I hear Niall shout down Harry's ear and I can't help but giggle along with him.

"You're SO going to regret that remark. Niall? I'm gonna have to go teach my girlfriend some manners. Thanks for the game dude, I'll catch up with you again soon ok?" He says before removing his headset and turning off the computer.
