When it happened, Niall didn't hear it from him. He knew it would come, but the one telling him about it wasn't Zayn. Instead, their Management had called them to them, demanding a talk.
He tried calling him again and again, but it went straight to the mailbox every time. He must have had shut off his phone. At that point, Niall didn't know yet. He assumed they would all meet at the office.
Niall, Liam, Louis and Harry walked into the meeting room. Clueless expressions on their faces.
"Zayn?" Harry mouthed at him.
Niall shrugged his shoulders, as unprepared as the others. The uneasy feeling in his stomach started to grow.
Mr Johnson was rubbing his temples before he stood straight up.
"It is with deep sorrow that I inform you, that after five years of being in One Direction, Zayn has decided he is going to leave."
