"Kids come sit down please"

you and Tyler stayed up for a couple hours after everything. You both laid there trying to sleep but with no luck you two stared up at the ceiling in the dark thinking, about the same thing too.

Tyler was the first one to speak up in the darkness and silence.

"I was angry for so long"

"angry at myself, for letting myself fall in love with you. angry at you for leaving, even though i blamed myself."

"i thought i was so clingy that you had to leave the state. when you came back i was even more angry at myself for letting you in but fuck it your here and i know your here to stay. And to be completely honest with you kids or not that car accident made me realize i need you in my life y/n and i will not lose you again.

you stayed silent. you didnt know he had this turmoil inside him. "we should tell them tomorrow." you said after a while. you were here to stay so there was no reason not to tell them.

after that tyler nodded and mumbled a quick "mhm" and you went back and forth for a while until you fell asleep in tylers arms that you missed. he still had incredibly soft hands and even after everything you guys just did he still laid his hand respectfully on your side, just like when yall were kids. That's why you loved him.

Upon being called your kids ran down and jumped happily onto the living room couch.

"Yes mama?" They both questioned looking from you to tyler.

"Remember when I told you that your dad was out saving the world" your bent down to your kids so you are eye level with them.

They faltered a little bit, like they always did when their dad was brought up. Were we not important enough to be saved? They always thought.

"Well me and tyler have a secret we need to share" you signaled tyler to squat beside you and he obliged.

You both sighed. It was bittersweet almost. A chapter ending and another one starting. Every great story has a happy ending and they were finally getting theres after years and years of filler chapters they found each other again.

And I dont think they either both believed it still. Still thinking it's a dream they are about to wake up from.

"Well what is it" Mason asked impatient, hoping his dad was here finally.

"Tyler is your real dad" they looked at you then to tyler and busted out laughing.

After realizing you weren't laughing with them they abruptly stopped.

"Are you serious?" Maya asked.

"Sing my moms song then!" Mason screamed.

"Yeah! Prove it!" Maya agreed.

Tyler smiled and begin singing tear in my heart. "Sometimes you gotta bleed to know, that you're alive and have a soul"

"But it takes someone to come around to show you how, shes the tear in my heart I'm alive, shes the tear in my heart I'm on fire shes the tear in my heart take me higher than I've ever been." His voice was soft with oh so much emotion, the way he sung it made so raw it brought tears to your eyes. God you loved him so much

They smile wide and pounce on tyler. "I knew you would come back for us." Maya said.

She subtly hit masons head. "I told you mayonnaise"

You laughed and smiled pulling out your phone and taking a picture of this beautiful moment.

It took a while and theres up and downs but you were finally happy and content with your decisions and you came to peace with them. Your story finished where it began, with tyler
