Despite having beat Erik the day before, today he didn't pay me any mind and the training went smoothly.
Of course he kept glaring at me when he thought I wasn't watching. I'm sure it beat his ego to be beaten by a new comer who didn't know anything about combat. Thank Sekuum he didn't know about the necklace or he would've challenged me right then and there, seeing as I didn't have it on.
I spent the rest of the day in the library before returning to my little apartment complex.
It gets kind of boring sometimes, sitting here on the couch and looking at the walls. These are the times when crazy thoughts keep invading my mind and today my brain seemed to be particularly focused on Elon. I just can't stop worrying about him. I hope I can find him. I hope he can find a way to come back.
I shake my head, trying to get rid of the thoughts of never seeing him again and get up. I need to do something to keep my mind busy.
I take my jacket off the hook, grab my keys and get out of the suffocating apartment.
I don't know how but I end up walking for a really long time until I get to the boundaries of the city. I walk in the long pathway up a small hill, the leaves crunching under my feet.
I sit there for a long time, enjoying the feeling of the wind running through my hair and the distant sounds of the city, the cars beeping and the lights fading in and out.
I take a deep breath. I need to have control over my emotions. I've always hated feeling helpless and right now I'm feeling just that. It's awful.
I wish this would just end.
I sigh. We're just at the beginning. The revolution could take years to have a winner. I hope when that happens it's us and not them.
After a while of sitting there something terrifying happens that makes my heart almost stop beating.
An alarm starts blaring in the distance. My eyes snap open and I immediately go into alert.
The lights in the city start going out and soon everything is caked in black. By now I'm already standing, my heart beating fast.
What's going on?
I hear an ear blasting sound in the distance, like a jet getting closer. My eyes widen in fear.
We're being goddamn attacked!
I start running back towards the city. I'm scared shitless and as I push my legs to go faster I can hear the jet getting closer. I don't even get close enough to the city before the jet arrives. I horridly duck down and take cover. Thank goodness I'm wearing dark colored clothes.
The jet gets closer and suddenly an explosion goes off. Then another, and another, and another. All the while I keep my eyes closed and my body tucked closely to a tree.
After a few minutes the sound of the motor of the jet fades away and all that remains is silence.
I cautiously open my eyes and get out of hiding. Taking my hands away from my ears it takes a few minutes for me to hear again. The explosions and the sound of the jet made me momentarily deaf.
After a few seconds my ears stop ringing and I finally hear the heartbreaking screams in the distance.
My heart beats wildly. I still can't believe what just happened but the faint screams in the distance prove otherwise.
A shiver runs down my spine as I slowly start walking towards the city, frowning.
I can't believe that just happened.
