" Dad! You're really here!" Amy said, still hugging Tim. " I finally am," Tim answered. Jack folded his arms and frowned. "You remember how I feel about you?" He asked. Tim stopped hugging Amy and turned to look at Jack. "Jack, we're family, so we better try to get along." Tim answered. Jack frowned again before leaving. Amy turned back around to face Tim and smiled. " Dad," she said as she put her arm around Ty. She glanced up at Ty. Ty smiled then said, " Tim, Amy and I are engaged." Amy nodded. " I was going to tell you on the phone, but Lou said I should wait till you got here. Anyway, it only happened a week ago."
" Amy, I'm so happy for you two. When's the date set for?" He asked.
" Well, we were thinking some time in February," Amy replied. Tim nodded.
" So, how've you been?" She asked. "I've been doing great! What about you?" " Good," Amy responded. " Well, I better go unpack. See you later. Good to see you again, Ty." Tim called As he walked outdo the barn. Ty put his arm around Amy. " Where's He going to sleep?" Ty asked. " In my room. Is it ok if I sleep in the loft with you?" " Yeah, sure," Ty replied." Ugh! I'm totally out of flour!" Lou complained. " Lou, I can go get you some," Jack said, walking into the room. Lou sighed. " Thanks grandpa. That'd be great." Jack put on his hat and left the house. " Let's see, I still need to call Mallory and see if she can come.... and Lisa said she'll be here..."
" Ty, can you believe the day after tomorrow is Christmas!?" Amy said as she moved a box. " Ugh, what is in this thing! It weighs like 20 pounds!" " Let's see," Ty answered. Amy set down the box and together they opened it. Lying directly on top was Tim and Marion's wedding picture. Amy's breath caught in her throat. Ty quickly lifted the photo out and set it aside. Underneath were all of Marion's books. Amy burst into sobs, as Ty tried to comfort her.
" Oh, Ty! It's been 5 years now and I still miss her so much sometimes. She and dad look so young, and happy in that picture." Amy paused to wipe her tears. " Ty, what was this doing up here?" " Well, they brought it up here when she... died. I totally forgot about it. I don't even know what's in half of these boxes." Ty told Amy. " Ty, I think it's time
for a major cleanup," Amy said." Lou, where's Jack? I want to help around this place, but I can't find him."
" Well, dad, he went in town to get me some flour for tomorrow." Tim laughed. " Buy flour? I thought only women did that." Lou sighed. " Dad, you as a Batchelor should know that women can't always do the shopping."
" Whatever," Tim shook his head. Lou turned back to her list. " Hum, Maybe
I should invite Scott...."A/n:
