Chapter 5

Danielle's POV

Say what? What on earth did I do wrong, to go to the principal's office? Seriously? How could this day get any worse??

As we were walking towards Mrs. Holmes office, I could see from the corner of my eye, that Mr. Jorck was grinning...

I bet my soul that he is enjoying this.

Alex wasn't really what you call a "bad boy". I mean he was sent to Mrs. Holmes office a lot of times, but usually, it was just about his grades.

But me... Why me? What on Earth did I do now? I was never sent to the principal's office! Not until now.

Well there was this one time I was sent there, because Mrs. Holmes congratulated me. She congratulated me for winning a 1st place in a poetry making contest with some other schools.

"What did I do? Maybe she wants to congratulate me again. But for what? I just hope that this wouldn't get any worse" I kept thought to myself...

As we entered Principal Holme's office, I could feel my spine tingling. I was so nervous. My feet was shaky, but I was able to control it.

"Don't worry, this would be okay." I told myself.

Alex's POV

When we were walking down the hallway I couldn't help grinning. I really wanted to start laughing.

You should have seen her face. She looked like she saw a ghost. She was so pale, and I could even sense her nervousness.

I was used to it. Going to the Principal's office. I usually go there bacause Mrs. Holmes would talk to me about my grades.

But her, Danielle. What the heck did she do? I don't know. I guess I just have to find that out later.

As we entered the principal's office, the coldness of the room welcomed us.

I noticed that she was slightly shaky. I bet that she wasn't even sent here to be scolded. She was usually sent here to be congratulated for her stupid good grades.

"Sit." Mrs. Holmes commanded, while pointing at the two red chairs infront of us.

Wow she really is nervous. I could see that her hands were really shaky as she placed it on the top of the table.

I think she saw me staring at it so she quickly placed it on her lap. Oh boy what now? Wonder what on earth will she tell us.

Danielle's POV

Okay. Breath. I told myself. How could this get any worse?

Mrs. Holmes broke the silence of the room as she started talking to us.

"I wanted the two of you here because I wanted to talk to you about something really important. We all know that the awaited prom would be happening within two months from now. Now you might be asking, what does that have to do with the two of you. Well firstly I wanted the two of you to work together. On what you ask? I want the two of you to be responsible for prom. The two of you will be responsible with the theme, the decorations, the music and everything else related to this upcoming prom. The two of you would be doing this only at dismissal and only up to 7:30 p.m. I don't want your parents to be mad at me for making you stay in school late at night. Now secondly, why the two of you? Well because, you Mr. Andrews, you need to catch up with your grades. I have already talked to your teachers about this and they have all agreed with it. And you Ms. Roberts, you are doing great with your subjects. You have the highest grades among every class you attend. But you have to help Alex here. I also noticed that you and Alex never get along each other. And hopefully by God's grace, this project that the two of you would be working on together would help the two of you and hopefully it would also teach you a lesson. The two of you are now dismissed."

Say what? I get to help Mr. Jorck to be in charge of prom?!

As I went out of her office. I wanted to scream so loud! But I can't, I couldn't speak at all. How could this be?

Oh Lord, I know this is your will. So please help me accept it....
