No one's POV
Seven pairs of eyes stared down at the table, their mouth watering and stomachs grumbling. Their deprived bellies ached to be fed, crying out of abuse and neglect. Their nose twitched in delight, the aroma of freshly cooked food entered their nostrils. After long nights, they were rewarded with their longing wish. Breakfast.
"Are we in heaven? Is this real?" Taehyung muttered, his brain not believing actual fresh food laid on the wooden table. His mouth was hung open, drooling.
"If we were in heaven we would be kicked out immediately," Yoongi responded, his feline eyes observing the steamy pancakes as the butter on top slowly melts. His eyes trailed on the butter, which slowly slid down onto the white plate underneath. He gulped.
Without a moment too soon, the seven adult men without hesitation dug in their breakfast, their movements becoming more aggressive as they dove into the pure abyss of euphoria. Faces all covered in syrup and pieces of the pancakes, they didn't stop, their minds blinded and their control over their own body slipped away to the darkness also known as hunger. It was the first morning in ten months anyone felt safe.
Jin was the first one to finish, his hands patting his happy stomach. A moan escaped his plump lips, the memory of the exquisite taste never left his mind as his desire for more increased. But his body felt a bit full, as it was not used to eating so much as it did before the outbreak of the virus. But all in all, he was in his own little world full of nothing but delicious homemade meals.
A few loud knocks interrupted the silence in the room, all eyes attracted to the familiar sound coming from behind the door. Before anyone could even say anything, the person from the outside invited themselves in, not bothered at all at the messy sight in the kitchen.
"Good morning you adult toddlers!" Mingyu chuckled, skipping his way towards the rectangle table. He completely ignored the various glares he got from inviting himself in, returning the very familiar smile he gave to everyone.
"Dude, it's only like, seven in the morning. Why are you here?" Jungkook pouted, his attention switching between the man and his half eaten breakfast. His eyebrows furrowed, his eyes displayed of curiosity while his body moved to the command of his stomach.
"What? Is it bad to greet my new buddies?" Mingyu tilted his head, acting innocent and clueless. His dark obsidian eyes scanned the seven men in the room, seeing that none of them seemed to believe him. Truth is, there was much more to just wanting to visit them. Resting his head on his hands, he spoke, "Well, I guess none of you really believe me. I can't really blame any one you, especially when a lot of things happened. To make it short and simple as possible: don't trust everyone that looks or acts friendly. During this time of the apocalypse, trusting is a bit of a tricky riddle to solve,"
"Don't you think we already knew that? We had our fair share of which person to believe in. Paranoia already set in," Yoongi grumbled, scoffing then chugging a glass of water. The familiar liquid slid down his throat, his body relived to feel hydrated.
"How come you trust us though?"
"Bold of you to assume we trusted you. Your group literally kidnapped us, we just went with the flow. Seeing that you had decent equiptment made us think that we would have a higher chance of surviving in your custody," Jin nonchalantly blurted, his attention never leaving his plate. He didn't raise his head up, but he felt the nods of the six others. It wouldn't be surprising if they thought the same thing, after all they shared the same brain cell.
"Touche. But, what if we had actually kidnapped you, pampered you into believing we could be trusted, then use you as bait?" Mingyu continued his conversation, drawing back to how not everyone is kind as before. He stayed in the same position, but unlike a few moments ago, his eyes didn't hold the youthful look as it did. The young sparkle in his eyes darkened, eyebrows knitted as his lips twitched into a frown. For the first time since the group saw him, he looked everything but cheerful.
