Sierra's POV
The floor board creaks and my eyes slowly open. I turn my head to look around the dark room. "Who's there?" I ask softly, my heart pounding in my chest.
Silence.. complete and utter silence.
I sit up slowly and look around the room once more. I reach for the bedside lamp, but a shadow in the corner causes me to halt my movements.
The floor board creaks once more and in a flash my mom is in front of me. "Sierra," she whispers and I look at her in shock. Anger courses through my body and I narrow my eyes. "How could you?!" I scream, jumping up out of the bed.
She pulls out a gun and I back away, clutching my stomach automatically. Her eyes follow my movement and amusement soon dances in her cold eyes.
"How stupid of you to let that scum knock you up. I let your father knock me up and look at what happened!" She yells while cocking the gun. She aims it at my stomach and I freeze.
I can't die.
I can't lose my baby.
"I always wanted to kill you while looking at you face to face. I finally have the opportunity to do so ," she whispers as she places her finger on the trigger.
"Please don't do this," I beg and she scoffs. A smirk appears on her face and she shakes her head. "You're pathetic," she spits. "Begging for your life like you are something worth living," she states and I look at her in shock.
What did I ever do to her? She was the pathetic druggie and alcoholic all my life. She chose countless number of men over me.
"You really thought you could get away from me? You'll never escape me darling," she hisses nastily.
"Sierra?!" Asher calls out from the other side of the bedroom door and I open my mouth. "Don't," she warns in a whisper and I shut it.
"Baby? Is everything okay?" He asks and I blink away the tears, not wanting my monster of a mother to see me any weaker than she already has.
"I'm fine!" I yell, knowing he'll know something is up. Anytime I've used the words I'm fine, he knew something was wrong with me. Maybe he'll catch on and realize it's something more life threatening.
"You sure?" He asks, the concern he has is clear as day.
"Yes!" I holler, rolling my eyes. Even in a hostage situation he manages to irritate me. Must be the hormones.
"Okay," he mumbles distantly.
"Oh cheer up," my mother says while fake pouting. I close my eyes, take a deep breath and count to twenty before I open them and give her a 'you're dead' look. She rolls her eyes and clicks her tongue.
"You're so dramatic dear child. This is what you're going to do for me," she says and I raise an eyebrow.
Color me intrigued.
"You're going to write up a formal letter and sign it along with a bloody thumbprint to prove it was you stating that if anything were to happen to you, your half of everything is to go to me," she states and I scoff.
"Are you serious?" I ask incredulously. "Do you really think they would believe I wrote and stamped that willingly. You're so damn delusional woman. You're completely insane," I mumble, shaking my head.
"You have exactly five minutes before that door," I state, pausing while pointing to the bedroom door, "is kicked in and a dozen men swarm this room and you. You've lost mother. Accept it and your fate," I tell her, my confidence back to normal.
"Are you forgetting I'm pointing a gun at you?" She asks, humor lacing her voice.
"Are you forgetting that every room in this mansion has cameras?" I counter. "Do you really think you could break in here and threaten me and get away with it?" I ask, taking a step closer to her.
"You're the pathetic one here. You couldn't even over power and destroy Dimitri. What makes you think you can kill his daughter?" I question and she looks at me with shocked eyes.
"Wh- I.. you know what. Shut up!" She yells, her once strong composure slowly crumbling. She looks at me with hard eyes and steadies her gun once more.
"I have the gun. I am in control. I'm the one who should be running this Mafia. I was entitled to it!" She screams, waving the gun around.
I lick my lips and swallow hard, praying Asher hurries the hell up.
"Your father just had to knock me up. He didn't even want to marry me when he found out I was pregnant. He didn't want me to have any ties to the Mafia. He didn't trust me or love me enough to let me take over for him. He didn't want me too."
"For years I watched as he trained that boy, shaped him into who he wanted him to be. I watched as that boy grew up thinking he was the next heir. He would have been too," she mumbles and I look at her in confusion.
"That was until I left some small crumbs here and there to alert your father of your whereabouts. Who knew it would bring in the rivals as well. That Austin boy sure was a good fuck," she says with a sinister smile and I crinkle my nose in disgust.
"Who do you think fed your little boyfriend all the information he needed to know? Me. And you know when? While I was riding his glorious cock," she says as if it was the greatest thing she ever done.
"That's fucking disgusting," I mutter in distaste and she rolls her eyes.
"Well he sure loved it. He went from loyal to wanting you dead in a split second. Maybe if you knew how to ride a dick your men would listen better," she spits and I roll my eyes.
"I'd say she rides my dick damn good," Asher states and we both whip our heads to the door.
When did it even get kicked in?
"Not so fast little boy," she warns and aims the gun at my stomach once more.
