Asher's POV

I narrow my eyes at Sierra's mother and chuckle dryly. "You pull that trigger and it'll be the last thing you ever do," I warn and she tilts her head.

"Oh really?" She asks and I smirk in response.

"Yes really," I tell her before I pull out my own gun. I pull the trigger before she can respond and shoot her in the shoulder. She drops her gun and Sierra takes the opportunity to punch her mother in the face.

"She falls to the ground and screams in agony and I chuckle. "Had enough?" I ask and she narrows her eyes at me. "I will kill you," she mumbles and I scoff.

"Don't you get it. This is over!" I yell. The woman narrows her eyes and spits blood at me. "This," she says softly while coughing briefly. "Will never be over."

I shake my head and sigh in annoyance. "It already is," Sierra cuts in before I can speak. "Asher baby?" She questions and I give her a concerned look. "Yes?"

"Give me the gun," she says with a cold voice and I smirk while I hand it over.

Her mom gasps but covers it up quickly with a scoff. "You won't kill me. I'm your mother," she spits and Sierra smiles evilly. "You're not my mother," she whispers and cocks the gun.

She aims it at her moms head and laughs dryly. "You know, I never thought I would be able to do this," Sierra mumbles and her moms crinkles her nose.

"Do what?" She asks impatiently and Sierra gives her a smirk.

"Kill you."

She places her finger on the trigger and her mom looks at her with wide eyes.

"You wouldn't," she whispers, her voice trembling.

"Oh I would and I am," she says before pulling the trigger.

BANG

The gun goes off and Sierra's mom falls backwards, her body hitting the floor with a loud thud. All that can be heard is Sierra's hard breathing.

"Is everything okay?" Ross questions while running into the room. He takes in the scene before him and he sucks in a breath. "Oh," he whispers and walks over slowly to Sierra.

"Boss?" He questions and she looks over at him with cold eyes.

"Yes?" She asks and he swallows hard. I bite my tongue to keep from laughing and watch the exchange in front of me.

"Do you want to hand it over?" He asks carefully, motioning to the gun. She glances at me and sighs, a small smile tugging at her lips.

"I'm good Ross. Thank you. Just get someone to clean this mess up," she mumbles and he cracks a small smile. "Yes ma'am."

He nods at me and walks out of the room. Sierra turns to me and smiles a genuine smile. "It's over?" She asks and I nod my head.

"It's over princess."

She sets the gun on the bed and rushes towards me, cupping my cheeks in her small hands. I wrap my arms around her waist and lift her from the floor.

She presses her lips against mine and kisses me hard, biting my lip in the process. I growl and bite hers back, demanding entrance. She opens her mouth wider and our tongues soon dance in sync.

She pulls away and rests her forehead on mine. She breathes deeply and I know she has a lot on her mind.

"You had me so worried," she whispers and I raise an eyebrow. "Why were you worried baby?" I ask and she snorts.

"Are you serious?" She questions, slapping my arm. "You took so damn long to get into the room. I really thought she would end my life, our lives," she whispers while looking down.

"You and our kid will always be safe princess. No matter what," I tell her and she sniffles. She looks up and offers a weak smile.

"I love you more than life itself Sierra. I'll never let anyone hurt you," I say and she nods her head, a small hiccup leaving her mouth.

"I know Asher, I know. I was just scared. I had showed her weakness at first, but the will to keep living so our kid could be both pushed me to the edge. It helped me realize I could get through this. I knew in my heart you would save me," she whispers, tears falling down her cheeks.

"I love you so much princess. I'll always be there to save you. Let's just try not to make a habit out of it," I tell her jokingly and she laughs.

"I'll try not to be held hostage again, especially in our own bedroom," she says softly, a small laugh escaping her mouth. I shake my head and laugh along with her, holding her tightly against my body.

"It's us against the world baby," I whisper and she nods in agreement.

"It's us against the world," she repeats with a smile on her face.
