Sierra's POV
"What happened to you Asher?" I ask softly, the disappointment in my tone clear as day. "How many lies are you going to spew before you tell the truth? What will it take for you to be honest with me?" I ask and his eyes plead with me to forgive him.
"I can ask you the same question. What happened to you?" He counters and I narrow my eyes. "What the hell does that mean?" I ask angrily and his expression grows serious.
"You're constantly wanting to kill someone. You've done went off the deep end info the darkness. You're the one who wanted to run away from the Mafia and we did. I fucking turned my life upside down for you without a second thought."
"I moved us here. You wanted to be fucking normal, not me. Do you know how hard it was to watch you turn from the gentle innocent woman I fell in love with to the spitting fucking image of Dimitri?" He asks angrily and I flinch at his cold tone.
"I'm nothing like him," I growl, but deep down I know he's telling the truth. Ever since we were attacked eight months ago, I felt something inside of me snap. I felt the darkness begin to pull at me and I let it consume me.
"You're everything like him Sierra and it scares me. Your father was the only man I ever feared. I was glad to be rid of him, but now he's back."
"He's back in the form of you," he states and I suck in a deep breath.
"What are you going to do when the council calls? Are you going to be as ruthless as your father?" He asks angrily and I feel my heart drop. "No," I manage to whisper. I rub my face and groan into my hands.
"I don't want to be like him. I don't want to be angry all the time. Will you help me?" I ask, my voice cracking with all the emotions inside of me weighing me down. His features soften and he walks over to me, pulling me against his chest.
"I'll be here for you as long as you let me," he whispers and I tighten my hold on him. "I'm sorry," I mumble, pulling away briefly to wipe my eyes. When did I start crying? "I've been so emotional lately and I don't know why. My time of the month must be coming," I mumble and he chuckles.
"Can we go grab a bite to eat? I want to explain why I went to the strip club in the first place," he tells me and I nod. The uneasy feeling in my stomach doesn't settle as we go to exit the showers. "Put some clothes on Asher," I tell him when I realize he's still wrapped in a towel.
"Yes ma'am," he says with a salute before he jogs away. He comes back out five minutes later dressed in dark ripped jeans and a plain white T-shirt. That man can make anything look good.
"What about Ryan?" Asher asks and I give him a small smile. "I'll meet up with him later for drinks. He had to go run some errands for me," I say and he nods his head. He doesn't bother to ask questions, because he knows he isn't out of the woods just yet with me.
"Where would my princess like to go eat?" He asks and I laugh loudly, his term of endearment making me sound like a child at this moment. "That sounded so childish just now," I tell him and he glares at me before smirking.
"Laugh all you want. You're still my princess," he mumbles and I smile softly at him. "I'll always be your princess Asher, even when you make me hate you. I'll still always love you," I tell him and he frowns, looking away. "I don't want you to hate me Sierra. Ever," he says coldly and I sigh.
"Let's just head to the lounge and order some take out. I really don't want to leave and make a scene if this talk turns ugly," I tell him and he nods. "Fair enough." We walk into the lounge and both take a seat on the sofa in the corner.
"You know how we had gotten into the argument about money that morning?" He asks and I nod my head, knowing what he's talking about. "Well, after our argument I went out with Armand. We went to the strip club to relax and do business. I was thinking about talking to you about starting our own strip club business."
"Okay. Now that makes sense as to why you were there. Keep going," I mumble, licking my lips. "So we are sitting there, drinking, talking future plans when Morgan comes up to us. She kept looking back and forth between me and her manager so I caught on to the fact that we had to get a dance if we wanted to stay."
"Some other girl came grab Armand while Morgan gave me a dance where I was. I wasn't lying when I said she wanted me to fuck and touch her. She was practically begging," he says and I can see in his eyes he's telling the truth so far.
"Okay and what else?" I ask, trying to keep myself calm. "When it was over, she asked if she did something wrong and I told her no, it was that I was engaged and I didn't fuck around," he tells me and I can't help but scoff.
"Didn't do good at sticking to those words," I mumble and he sighs. "Armand came back out and we started drinking again, continuing on with our talking. We had the plans sketched out and everything. I still have them by the way," he adds and I roll my eyes.
"Besides the point Asher. Continue."
"So after a few light drinks, we switched to something heavy. Didn't keep track because we wanted to relax after all the stressing. After that, I remember waking up to you beating me," he mumbles and I let out a deep breath.
"I believe you didn't intentionally cheat, but you still did Asher. I do forgive you, but that doesn't mean I trust you. We can and will get through this as long as we stay by each other's sides," I whisper and he gives me a sad smile.
"Why do I hurt you so much?" He ask and I shrug my shoulders. "Maybe it's because that same darkness lingers inside of us," I say honestly. "But we have to learn how to control it and we can," I tell him. "Together."
