Sierra's POV
I hiss in pain as I take the first step, but I grind my teeth together and breathe out loudly. Asher grabs my hand and pulls me against side, allowing me to rest my body on his. "We just need to find somewhere to hide in here. Can you do that?" He asks and I grunt. "Yes," I mumble while taking deep breaths.
I limp besides Asher, whimpering softly. He sighs and snakes his arm around my waist, holding me firmly against him. After ten minutes of searching the building for a safe spot to hide, Asher finds me a chair to sit on.
"I'll be right back," he whispers and I nod, licking my lips. A familiar smell fills my nostrils and I gasp, grabbing Asher's arm to stop him.
"Gas," I whisper. "I smell gas!" He furrows his eyebrows and looks around, sniffing the air. "I don't smell anything princess. Are you sure?" He asks with worry and I nod. "You really don't smell it Asher? The closer we get to the door, the stronger the smell," I tell him and he swallows.
"Stay right here. Keep your nose and mouth covered. Maybe I'm not close enough. You always did have a sixth sense for certain things. Maybe your smelling is heightened," he suggests and I roll my eyes. "That's usually when a female is preg-"
No? I can't be..
"Pregnant?" He asks in shock and I nod my head. "But I can't be. Right? I mean you had a vasectomy. So there's no way," I mumble, my heart beating a mile a minute. This can't be happening, especially not right now.
"Let's just get the hell out of here and to the mansion," I mumble, standing back up. Asher runs to my side and lifts me up, carrying me bridal style. I give him a questioning look and he just gives me a tight lipped smile. Rolling my eyes, sigh in frustration. "Is this because we think I'm pregnant? Are you suddenly not happy?" I ask and he scoffs.
"Don't you think it's kind of weird if you are pregnant?" He asks and I feel a pain shoot through my heart. "Are you trying to say I cheated on you?" My voice holds so many conflicted emotions. Disbelief flashes through his eyes as he looks into my hurt ones.
"What? No? I'm just saying th-"
"Thank god you two are okay!" An all to familiar voice yells. I whip my head around the best I can and gasp. "R-Ross?!" I question in shock. "What the fuck are you doing here? Why are you even alive?" Asher questions angrily while putting me on my feet.
"I was sent by the council," he says while holding his hands up in surrender. "Trust me, I was severely tortured for my wrong doings, but I changed. I've been helping the council out. I'm a hired hand. I usually do the dirty work for them, but in this case I'm just out to find you and bring you to them."
As much as I want to punch him in the throat, I take a deep breath and nod. "Very well, let's go," I mumble and reach out for Asher's hand. His large hands connects with mine and I smile softly, just wanting us to be on good terms, but right now isn't the time to even think about us.
"If you so much as make a sound that I don't like I'll fucking slit your throat with a smile on my face," I threat and he gives me a curt nod. Asher groans from besides me and I ignore him. I yank his arm and he follows behind me.
In the moment of feeling angry and betrayed, I forget all about my knee pain and walk as fast as I can. We follow closely behind Ross without saying a word until we reach the same door we entered. "Wait here while I bring the car around," Ross tells us and Asher grunts. I roll my eyes and nod my head. "Just hurry," I whisper and he offers a small smile before walking away.
I know he's trying to reassure me that everything will be okay, but Asher thinks otherwise. "Mine," he growls and I huff. "Shut up," I mumble. He tightens his hold on my hand and pulls me closer against his body. "I don't share," he spits out and I sigh.
"I don't share either nor do I want to be shared, so shut up." The car turns down the alley and soon stops in front of the door. The driver window rolls down and Ross nods his head. "All clear," he says and Asher shields my body as we step out into the alley.
He opens the back door for me and helps me inside before walking around and getting in the passengers side in the front of the car. "Don't want to sit by me?" I ask angrily and he groans, rubbing his face. "Lie down and shut up Sierra. You're hurt and you need the room to rest your body," he states without turning around to look at me.
"Fine," I mumble and do as instructed. When my side comes in contact with the seat, I sigh and close my eyes. Too much running and possible life changing news for one day. I'll have to buy a pregnancy test as soon as I can to ease my nerves. I might also have to get Asher checked by a doctor as well.
What if Dimitri didn't actually have the vasectomy done? I mean Asher was merely a kid so he wouldn't have known what was going on. He was probably drugged up for days in some fake ass hospital, being brainwashed to think he actually had a vasectomy done for punishment.
"Stop at the nearest gas station. I need to get some stuff first," Asher tells Ross and I roll my closed eyes. He's going to buy a pregnancy test. Probably doesn't even want a kid by me. "And you'll be getting down Sierra," he says loudly and I sigh. "Whatever."
