Gerald checked his phone.

From baby girl:

Pinayagan ka ba sa 2 days off?

He smiled at himself and replied.

To baby girl:

Yes! See you tomorrow :)

“Sarah…” her father called when she was about to step out of their house.

“Bakit Dii?”

Daddy Delfin looked at his wife questioningly and gulped “Road trip with Gerald? Dalawang araw? Kayo lang?” he hesitantly asked.

Her mom then nodded “Oo nga anak… dalawa lang talaga kayo?” she asked.

Sarah smiled “Opo. May masama po ba dun?” she answered not knowing what their questions meant.

“Kasi anak… babae ka… lalaki siya.” Her dad tried to point out.

“Opo. Babae ako… lalaki siya. Bakit po?” she asked and stared at her parents.

*awkward silence

“Naku ma… pa… Naghihintay na yun… bye po ulit!” she bid farewell and kissed her parents’ cheek.

“Sa tingin mo?” Her mom asked her dad when she left.

Her dad shook his head “Ayokong isipin. Hindi naman siguro…”

“Tama… wala naman siguro silang...”

“Paano kung…” her dad doubted which earned him a slap on his arm.

“Hindi…” her mom said with finality.

“So… saan tayo baby girl?” he asked helping her buckle her seatbelt.

“Anywhere… Kahit saan! Let’s see where the road would take us. No plans… no directions… nothing but you and me. Game?”
