I couldn't sleep all last night even though I slept in Patty's arms almost the whole night. He tried rubbing my back, playing with my hair and singing to me, nothing worked, and when I did finally fall asleep around 6 a.m, I had to get back up around 8 to go start setting up the merch tent and taking the day's inventory.

"It's going to be okay," Patty reassured me for the billionth time as he kissed my temple before sitting down on the couch. "There's gonna be a venue security guard at the tent the whole time, and Kevin said he's going to be checking on you throughout the day."

I sighed heavily, leaning against the counter as I played with my fingers.

"He's capable of a lot of things," I muttered. "Things that I never thought I would have to relive."

Before I got off the bus, Patty hugged me tightly and leaned down, kissing me softly before placing a kiss on my forehead.

"I'll be there soon, okay?" He said as he rubbed my arms. "Nothing's going to happen to you. Not on my watch. I love you."

"I love you," I said quietly as I pulled away, shoving my phone in the back of my pocket and getting off the bus.

As soon as I got to the tent with a box of shirts, my phone rang. It was Britt, and I realized that I never called her the other day.

"Hello?" I answered as I set the box down, squatting down to go through them.

"Avery! Thank GOD!" Britt sighed loudly. "I've been trying to call you all week!"

I frowned, biting down on my lip.

"I know, I know, I'm sorry," I muttered as I sorted through one of the piles. "It's been pretty crazy, and I haven't had much free time...or alone time, for that matter."

"Josh is outside in the main general admission line," she said. "And so am I."

"You are?!" I asked, a hint of a smile coming to my face. "Why?"

"Because I haven't seen you in awhile, and I need to make sure that mother fucker doesn't do any stupid shit," she said. I could hear tons of chatter behind her. "Patty and I were talking on Instagram yesterday."

I stood up, going over to the cooler and opening it up, grabbing a bottle of water.

"He told me that you messaged him," I said after taking a drink. "I'm just nervous. I haven't spoken to Josh since he broke up with me, and I'm not really sure why he's here."

"His goal," she paused. "Is to bring you back to Indianapolis. And you know he's going to do everything he can to make that happen."

I rolled my eyes, leaning against the table.

"I hate him so much," I muttered. "I really hope he tries something to get himself arrested because I know for a fact he doesn't have any money for bail."

She laughed, taking the phone away from her ear to talk to the person next to her.

"Ben's out here with that sign selling pre-orders of their new album, he's so cute," she giggled. "And they're only $5."

"Britt!" I gasped. "He's married," I said with a laugh as my phone beeped in my ear. "Hey, I have to finish setting up. I'll see you in a bit."

We said our goodbyes and hung up the phone. When I slipped it back into my pocket, I noticed how hard my hands were shaking and how fast my heart was beating. It was finally hitting me how scared I was.
