El walked out of the office building feeling a wave of happiness over take her body as she saw her boyfriend of 4 years waiting outside for her. Mike was usually still at his own job right about now, He tutors a few kids after school on Fridays so it was a bit odd to see him parked in front of her.

"Mike? What are you doing here?" She made her way towards him, quickly greeting him with a short but sweet kiss. It became a habit for the two to greet each other with a kiss and El loved it. Made her think about the many hello kisses she'll be able to give him during their time together, or how many he'll give her.

"Can I not just pick up my beautiful girlfriend? I just wanted to see you love " Mike said as he wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her close to him.

"Yes, you can, But I know you Mr. Wheeler and I know you don't tend to do things 'just because'. Why are you here Michael?" El insisted he was hiding something. She truly does know Mike like the back of her hand.

"I can't ever get anything passed you can I? Well since you already ruined the surprise, I was thinking that we can go out  for dinner tonight."

"well what did you have in mind?"

Here's the thing, Mike had actually been planning  this dinner for over a month now,  gone through a million and one  diffrent  plans,in the end he chose the one that meant so much more. The 'problem' is that its not  suppose to happen today, but  he just could not stop thinking about El (to be honest their isn't a day since he met her that he doesn't think about her) theirs just something about today that made mike push his plans up.

"Jesus, Hopper. would you just let me  surprise you?" El pushes up on her toes to catch his lips with hers. They stand their for a minute, completely indulged in their lingering kiss.

When they do break away, Mike leads El to his car and they make the short ten minute drive. Mike glances down for a second, smiling at the small ring on her finger. remembering how nervouse he was that day, too.

Mike had a plan. He had everything figured out but all that planning went out the window while he was teaching his third period students. As always, they distracted him with questions about his personal life just so he wouldnt have to teach, usually he'd avoid getting distracted but that class period was a bit ahead so he let it slide. They began asking him about his relationship, whats her name, how long have you been together , how did you meet, all of that. He gladly answered their questions because mike honestly loves talking about El. He talked about her career and how incredibly lucky he feels to have her.

"Are you going to marry her Mr. Wheeler?" one of the girls had asked and mike felt his intire body burn with a blush, because of course Mike's dreamet of marrying her. He's planned a whole life with her and cant wait for the  day they both stand infront of their friends and family, celebrating their love. He was usually the one to stick to a plan, but just the thought of waiting even a few more weeks to prupose drove him insane. So, he canceled tutoring for the day and headed home first, picking up the little black box stuffed in the top shelf of his closet, and headed towards El's job.

"So will you tell me where were going now?" El said as she placed her hand on his arm.

"You are so impatient. Fine, ill give you a hint."Mike threw her a cheeky look and smirked.
