I really wanted to write something about Klaus and Ben and a reader (you) and naturally, since the two of them are always together for obvious reason, I wanted a chance to explore something like this. Sorry for the mistakes; English isn't my first language, so I probably missed out some mistakes. Thank you for giving this a chance!

"I don't think this is a good idea, Klaus."
Said man resists the urge to roll his eyes and instead, pulls his coat tighter around his shivering body. The weather today definitely did not help either: it is dreary, windy and a tad bit drizzly. He sways slightly, almost tripping over his own two feet, but he really wants to get this done and over with.
"It's just a stupid dare, Klaus. You don't have to do this."
"Shut up." He mutters over his shoulders, causing passers-by to look at him not too nicely. This time, Klaus rolls his eyes at their actions. It's not like they are the ones with the spirit of their dead brother walking behind him. "Do you have any better idea, Ben?" He grits out, using a hand to wipe the sweat away from his forehead. Despite the cold weather, Klaus still feels hot but honestly, it is probably the lack of drugs in his system that is making him feel this way. "You heard what that man said – I take that one locket from the store and he's going to fork over a little some for me."
Ben shakes his head as he begins to walk backwards right in front of Klaus. "But stooping this low to steal – really? What if this store has a secured safety system? What are you going to do then?" He asks, not liking his brother's choices. He wonders what could possibly be available in a dingy area like this; not that the areas Klaus frequents aren't as sketchy as the area they are currently in now. Ben sighs – Klaus makes some really bad decision sometimes (or almost all of the times) and Ben wishes he can actually do something for his brother.
Klaus stops abruptly, causing Ben to stop too and he turns to his right, looking up at the dimly lit sign on the store: 'Lit-a-way'. He could not figure out what type of store it was but judging from what his regular dealer said, the store mimicked a pawn shop, so there are probably a lot of (less) valuable items in the store. "This is it."
Ben follows Klaus' gaze and looks at the store, a sceptical look appearing on his face. "Lit-a-way? Really?" He turns to look at Klaus with a very deadpan expression. "Sometimes I really do wonder what's going on in your head, Klaus." He shakes his head and turns to look back at the store. "I don't think anyone is in there."
"That's correct because she is out here."
Klaus and Ben jump in surprise at the new voice coming from behind them – Klaus actually let out a small yelp – and the two of them turn around to see you standing behind them, a knowing smile present on your face and an umbrella covering you from the drizzles. "Holy shit – where the hell did you come from?" Klaus almost trips and lands on his ass but he manages to right himself, staring at you warily.
"Like all humans do I suppose – my parents. God bless their hearts." You say carelessly before looking away from the man you had been talking to and stare at the person beside him. "You aren't of this world." You point out, raising an eyebrow as you step closer to the two men in front of your store.
Ben's eyes widen at the same time as Klaus' did. The two of them shared a look together before Klaus starts sputtering and freaking out, murmuring under his breath about how youcan actually seeand talkto Ben and how the fuckis this happening. Ben, on the other hand, is still staring at you in surprise because he has been around for a while and this is the first time where he has come across a person – other than his brother! – who can see and talk to him. "How?"
(When he looks back at this memory at a later date, this is probably the moment where it all started for him and you. Probably.)
You scrutinize the being in front of you before turning to look at the man standing beside him. "Your thread is heavily intertwined with him." You manage to neglect informing them how you can also start seeing your own thread mixing with theirs too. "But to answer your question, I see things I should not be able to see. If I was a normal person, that is." You tell him casually.
(Long story short, you came from a family where the women in every generation have always been able to see 'life threads' and more often than not, sometimes they use their seeing ability to do a lot of great things and then some).
"People already think I am crazy anyways. Do you have booze?" The other man asks you and you look at him pointedly before manoeuvring around them to get to your door. Pulling out your key, you unlock the door and push it wide open. "Get inside and try not to take anything from this store – they will always end up back here if taken unwillingly." You tell him, giving him a knowing smile before you step into your store.
Ben's jaw drops slightly as he turns to meet Klaus' stare. "I like her." Ben can't exactly tell if he is impressed by your impassiveness or interested because you are just as mysterious – if not fully mysterious – as the rest of his siblings are. "Yeah, I think I like her."
Klaus scoffs, laughing deprecatingly. "Of course, the dead guy would." He rolls his eyes at his brother's words and walks in to the store. "Yoo-hoo~" He calls out, looking around the store. It definitely did not resemble a pawn shop – in fact, it is so far different from a pawn shop. Or at least different from the pawn shop Klaus often frequented to.
Ben shakes his head and walks after Klaus, jumping slightly when the door closes itself behind him. "Just who is this lady?" He shoots at Klaus who shrugs his shoulders, picking up a jewellery box.
"Do you think this will sell well?" Klaus asks in return, trying to figure out if it can fit in one of his pockets. He nods his head: it probably will. He shrugs and just as he is about to put the jewellery box in his pocket, he hears you clearing your throat and he whirls around to give you a sheepish smile.
You raise an eyebrow before turning to look at the apparition. "Pleased to meet your acquaintance, Y/N at your service. Is this mess related to you?"
Ben snorts at your jab and shrugs his shoulders. "It depends; usually, he is much worse than this, so I think you are pretty lucky. Ben Hargreeves." He introduces himself, smiling slightly at you. Talking to somebody else that is not Klaus is such a mood lifter. You smile in response. "He is my brother, Klaus Hargreeves."
You nod your head; the name 'Hargreeves' sounds a tad bit familiar to you but you just cannot put a finger on it. "Pleased to meet the both of you. What can I do to help you?" Despite aiming that question mostly to Klaus, your eyes are still fixed on Ben as his are on yours and Klaus is just pretending to gag at the side.
"I never thought I'd see the day." Klaus pretends to gag once more, and Ben sends him a glare. "Oh, sorry. Was I disturbing your moment there?" Klaus flops down on an empty sofa, waving his hand in the air dismissively. "Carry on – I'm just going to sit here and," He trails off, looking away from Ben and you.
"Is this... Is this weird?" Ben asks, a frown appearing on his face as he looks away from his brother and focus his gaze on you. "How are you able to see and talk to me anyways?" He could not keep the awe from his words and the smile you give him almost made him feel warm – he probably would have blushed if he was still alive.
You look away from his eyes and stare at his hand before looking at him right back in the eyes. Your threads have intertwined so much that you could no longer tell where yours began or where his ended. "I can do more than just that." You reach over to his hand and Ben's jaw drops – and Klaus curses sharply – as you manage to grab a hold of his hand. "I told you I was not normal." You look at Klaus before looking at Ben.
"Shit."
