Ambrose and Daniel tumbled down the hill into an forest, scratched and gored on the way down. Ambrose was able to safely get off unlike Daniel. Daniel couldn't move his left leg without numbing pain. Ambrose noticed this quickly and bandaged it up. Though it was an improvement, it isn't a problem solver. Ambrose picked up Daniel and brought him into a nearby shallow cave and laid him down.
"Hang in there, Daniel," Ambrose told him as he searched through his medicine satchel.
"I miss the old world. I wish there were zombies instead of dragons," Daniel cried in pain.
"Oh zombies! I have a tome for that!" Ambrose said with happiness.
"This isn't a time to be happy," Daniel said.
"Eh, big baby, your ankle is dislocated. I'll move back in place on three. One, two-," Ambrose said as a loud cracking sound followed.
"Oh, sweet mother of Christ that hurts!" Daniel whined.
"I encountered a few people that needed their legs relocated at the inn, they didn't cry," Ambrose said.
"Have they not been in this world their entire lives!" Daniel cried.
"Eh. Listen, can I see your past? You seem so certain you aren't from here I must check," Ambrose said.
"What do you do?" Daniel asked gripping his leg.
" I cast a tome and I put my hands on your brain and I watch any moment I want," Ambrose said.
"Are yo-" Daniel began.
"No, I'm not going to look at you in the bathroom. I get asked this every time," Ambrose told Daniel.
"Fine, just do your mind rape thing," Daniel said.
"I wouldn't put it that way but let it be," Ambrose said as he pulled the required tome and casted it. He had Daniel lay down and put his fingers to his frontal lobe. A sharp pain occured in Ambrose's brain as images of Daniel's life flashed. Eventually, one memory appeared. It was Daniel and Pat playing a game of pool in a dim wooden room. Ambrose could move around the memory as a free form entity but was ethreal, invisible and untouchable.
"Happy fortieth!" Pat said.
"Thanks. The whole one of you," Daniel said as he knocks a ball into a hole.
"Daniel, you should really get out there. You are a multi-millionaire! Women will scram to you like flies to crap. Friends will too," Pat said circling the pool table for the right shot.
"I just don't have time to," Daniel said.
"Oh for the love of- We sit home and eat bon-bons all day. I could understand your situation if you are a doctor," Pat said taking his shot.
"I just don't feel like it," Daniel said.
"It's never too late to start, until you are fifty," Pat chuckled. "Anyways, just know I'm always your friend Daniel. I'll never put a women or any other friend ahead of you. You've had my back for the longest time and I'll have yours a day longer,"
"...thanks for the unreasonably deep statement," Daniel said putting his pool cue down. Ambrose ended the memory their and stopped the "mind rape".
"You're single?" Ambrose asked.
"Sadly," Daniel grunted.
"It's fine with me," Ambrose said.
