The first thing I remember is fire. The bright fire and the screaming. The screaming of my family and friends as the cruel orange beasts flew by on their repulsive wings. They came to my island in a large group. One large beast leading the other smaller creatures.
I was only four years old.

“Kari stay here with Adina,” An older man says, as he snatches up a set of bow and arrows.
“What is going on Gunnar,” the woman, Kari, says as she approaches her husband at the door, with a young girl in her arms.
“The watchtower at the Southeastern side of the island was attacked,” he replies.
“Do you know by what?” Kari questions.
Gunnar sighs, “No I do not.”
“Okay well then please be safe.”
“Papa don’t go,” a little voice pipes up.
“It’s okay Adina, papa just needs to go look at something,” Kari reassures her daughter.
“No papa don’t go to the fire. Please don’t leave papa,” Adina whimpers desperately to her father.
“It is alright my little Anu, I will come back,” the father tells his tearful daughter, before leaving the house.
Kari sets her ebony haired daughter on the ground and asks, “Adina why did you want your father to stay so bad? Usually you are not like this.”
"I-I had a d-dream that Papa left t-the house with his weapons a-and the f-fire m-monsters took Papa and everyone away," Adina replies tearfully.
“Oh, Adina it was just a dream, there is nothi-,” Kari starts to reassure her daughter.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOOOOM BOOM
Kari quickly picks up her daughter and rushes to look outside to see many of the houses to the south are set ablaze. She raises her hand to cover Adina’s eyes from the chaos and destruction occurring outside their home. Kari withdraws from the window and looks her daughter straight in the eyes.
“Adina we are going to run to the docks okay. We are going to run as fast as we can to the boats and we will meet up with everyone on another island alright. Do you understand me, Adina?" Kari asks her daughter quickly but sternly.
“Yes mama, I understand,” Adina responds to her mother.
“Okay Adina, together!” Kari says with determination, running out the door.
As soon as Kari pushes her way outside, the sound of the screams come to them both in waves. Screams of fear, screams of panic, and people running every which way.
Kari gets about 100 feet from the house when a fireball sails over the pair and barrels into the wood house, causing it to explode. The force of the blast knocks the older woman to the ground and leads to her dropping her daughter.
“You’re okay, we’re okay,” Kari says, quickly gathering up her daughter and continuing to run.
Kari and Adina reach the docks and Kari places her daughter on the boat. Just as Kari is climbing into the boat, something hits her from behind and she falls unconscious.
Adina turns her fearful gray eyes to the man towering over her mother. The man holds out his hand and blows powder into her face. Adina starts to feel woozy before joining her mother in unconsciousness.

If this the first time reading one of my stories you might want to check out chapters 2-6 in my olyssia story to get a little background info about my character. For those who have or don't want to, basically this is one of Lunetta Troy's past lives so Adina will most likely be much more intelligent than people of her age and time. I was going to give this to you all tomorrow but decided to give you guys a treat. That's all I have to say for now.
