Water and fear remain the same, but I receive new visions that hold even more fire and screaming. What to make of them, I do not know. I just know that the longer I wait the more pressing and active they seem. Whatever I am seeing is going to happen eventually.
--------------------

Knock. Knock.

“Enter,” a voice sounds from the other side of the door.

I enter the spacious stone office, to see Viggo at his desk with his signature Maces & Talons board out, and ready to play.

“Satisfactory news, I trust,” Viggo presumes, studying the way I walk.

“Depends on what you take as ‘satisfactory’,” I shoot back, sitting down on the side of the board that is the Honorable Chief. I make the first move.

“Did you locate us a brand-new base?” Viggo asks, engaging a countermove.

“Yes,” I say shortly, moving another piece.

“I believe you wish to add further information to that report,” Viggo infers.

“We located an island not documented on our maps,” I tell the chief, as he captures one of my pieces, “Ryker left some men to begin base preparations.”

“Did he now and what qualification does this base possess?” the younger Grimborn questions.

“Easily defendable and conveniently accessible to all of our hunting grounds,” I report before relocation one of my knights and capturing one of Viggo’s players.

“How promptly can this base be placed in operation,” he inquires, moving another piece.

“Less than two months to be of full use. A couple more months before everything is as I planned in the sketch I submitted to Ryker,” I inform the young chief.

“Excellent,” he replies.

We continue to play the game for another two hours, with Viggo once again reigning supreme. A short time later, a bell rings signaling dinner.

“A splendid game, Adina,” Viggo admits approvingly, “Care to accompany me for dinner?”

"Dinner does sound nice but I was hoping you would allow me to eat in my room. After all, it is the first day since I have come back and I was anticipating the comfort of my own room and bed," I comment softly.

“Of course, you must be weary,” Viggo responds, placing a hand on my shoulder,
“I shall request that Agatha deliver your evening meal.”

"Thanks, Vi."

“My pleasure, Anu.”
--------------------

Shortly after I get to my room, Agatha brings me a serving of chicken. I do believe anything with chicken is Ryker’s favorite dish. The island healer stays to talk with me as I eat my meal, and I regal her with my findings and catches while I was away with Ryker. Agatha even comments that I seem much happier than I was when I arrived.

Sitting on my bed, I meditate for about an hour to let my stomach settle. Following that, I stretch so I can begin some exercises that are more focused on my speed and flexibility. Feeling satisfied, I move to the wall and sit on the floor. Sitting up straight and aligning my spine, I begin a calm and clear meditation until the sun has almost entirely sunk below the horizon.

Stretching out in my bed, I sigh in relief. No rocking waves and no loud hunters, just peace in quiet. No visions to interrupt the stone silence and no one to ask something of me. Clearing my thoughts, I patiently wait for the blanket of sleep to come and envelope me in pure dark bliss.
--------------------

Through the streets of the Dragon Hunter homeland, I run. I run through crowds of people. Crowds of panicking people who just get in the way. To the docks, I desperately run. Following beside me is one Ryker Grimborn. Upon arrival at the docks, I see four men. Two of them with bows pointed at Ryker and me. One of the men is on his knees in front of the tall man with the tattoos. An oily snake coils around the lead man's neck and arm. The tattooed hand reaches behind the man's back for his sword, just as the arrows are loosed…
--------------------

I jolt awake, sweat streaming down my face. Oh gosh, that was an adrenaline rush. It has to just be a bad dream right? I most certainly have grown closer to Viggo and Ryker since I have been here. That is more than enough reason for my mind to come up with a devilish nightmare like this right?

I get out of bed and walk to my washbasin to splash cool water onto my burning face. I just need to calm down and go back to sleep. If I do that, then I can ponder on this and determine if this was a vision or not, in the morning. I look out my window to see the moon a fourth of the way risen in the sky. Sighing, I trudge back to my bed and plop down heavily on my pelts, falling back asleep.
--------------------

Staring out my window from my bed, I see the moon starting to descend after arriving at the peak of its course. Suddenly a hand appears on my windowsill. Jumping off the bed I run to my window to see a man trying to climb into my room after having scaled the castle walls. Kicking my foot at his hand to make him let go, the climber lets out a yelp of pain before grabbing my ankle. After he grabbed my ankle, the man lets go of the building and he falls pulling me along behind him. Plummeting to the ground, I brace my arms in front of me expecting pain. Instead of pain when I reached the ground, I crash straight through the ground and fall into a pit.

A pit of snakes.
--------------------

I gasp awake and quickly look out my window to see the moon had moved up the sky only slightly. Lurching out of my bed, I scramble to find blanks papers and a pencil. Hastily sitting down at my desk, I wildly begin to write.
