THE DAY ENDED PRETTY QUICKLY, and Adelaine was finally heading home after a shift at the convenience store. Her conversation with Jonah went well, and she couldn't be more relieved. She had been honest to him on her intention not to string him along and he understood. The Harvey male still wanted to be friends with her though. She agreed, telling him that she'd love to be his friend. Even Richie was thankful that the ginger ended everything before it began. Contrary to popular belief, Adelaine wasn't a heart breaker. Breaking somebody's heart was too much for her, since she can taste their emotions. She tasted a bit of bitterness when she told Johan her decision, but it quickly vanished. It would've been worse if she agreed to go out with him on that date. She was glad that she had finally cleared everything between them.

Adelaine's sneakers scraped against the pavement as she crossed the street, her eyes immediately light it up as she spotted her apartment. She let out a breath as she finally entered the warm apartment complex, her hands slightly shivering when it unlocked the door to her room. Suprisingly, Michael was not waiting for her by the door. She frowned at the realization, her heart racing a bit. Did he finally left her? Locking the door soundlessly, her heart almost jumped out of her chest when the blond appeared in front of her, dressed in his outdoor attire – a black shirt, some black rip jeans and the boots she got from Richie's app. His blond hair was smoothed back, his blue eyes shining.

"Michael, where are you going?" She asked, relieved at the fact that he hadn't left yet. Assessing his outfit, she smiled at how put together he looked. "Are you going out?" Her heart dropped at the thought, but she didn't let it show.

"No, no!" His eyes widened as he gripped her hand gently, "I prepared something for you."

Her lips curled up as she tucked a piece of her behind her ear, "What is it?"

He tugged at her hand, nervously pulling her towards the small kitchen and dining area, "Come on."

Adelaine's eyes widened as it landed on the lit candles near the circular wooden table – the scented candles she didn't bother to light up before – and the two empty bowls on top of it. She fought the blush fighting its way out of her cheeks as Michael handed her a daisy that he probably picked up from the garden outside the apartment. The blond was really sweet, and in his own little way, he had made her feel more special compared to the other men that came and went in her life.
