I Think I Love You

Chapter 1

Alex lied down exhaustedly next to Emily, who was sweating and catching her breath.
"You love that huh?"
Alex whispered against Emily's neck as she pulled her closer to her body. Emily feeling lustful and satisfied bit her lip and smiled.
"sex with you is always great Alexandria Nelson"
Alex held her closer in her arms and felt herself laugh at the sound of her full name, she hated her full name but loved the way it sounded as it escaped Emily's lips.
"please babe... Call me Alex."
Something about the way Alex said that sent Emily smiling,
"didn't you say that the first time we met? Or is that just me?"
They laughed and Emily turned around and faced Alex and put her arm around her. Alex put her forehead against Emily's and her breathing became more subtle.
"You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You know that right?"
Emily pulled away lightly and stared at Alex seriously
"and why's that?"
Emily unaware of the feelings Alex had for her, so she lied and whispered against her neck
"I meant the sex and our friendship."
Alex felt bad about lying to her and inside she wanted to expressed that she loved her since college but she couldn't, she wouldn't, Emily was to protective over her heart.
Emily who had a rich family and didn't need a lover, couldn't love, and for the most part chose not to. And then there's Alex a trans with a good paying job who couldn't love anyone else until she met Emily, her best friend.
Emily smiled and kissed Alex
"I knew that, I'm just messing with you."
Emily curled up onto Alex's chest and put her arm around her, Alex steadied her breathing, because around Emily her heart raced, and she held Emily close, waiting till she fell asleep. Emily fell asleep within 15 minutes and Alex kissed her cheek and admitted everything
"I've loved you since college Emily and I know you don't want to get broken hearted, I know how you feel, but baby I'm different. I know you've heard this before but I think I love you, and I don't mean it as some joke." Alex kissed her cheek one last time and with a single sigh fell asleep.
