Haruhi sees an old friend in Ouran after she transferred from Lobelia. Her name is Ayeka. Not much is shown about her other than she is quiet, analytical, articulated and a generally mysterious person. Kyoya and Mori both end up taking likes to her but only one will win.
Haruhi had only one real 'girl friend' and actually was fairly close with her until her fathee moved them across Japan, she comes back but she looks like a he. Her father enrolled her to OA and she meets Haruhi again by dragging 'him' into the boys bathroom to 'talk'.
