As they say it, actions have consequences. As people walked into the Gryffindor common room, they didn’t bother George and I as we are slowly dancing by the fire. Sometimes their voices would be loud and then it would come to a whisper when they saw us as they head up to bed. George and I pay no attention to it, we just focus on each other.
I hear as Ron and Harry come through the common room.
“Swear Hermione is mental.” I hear Ron complain.
“Let’s just go to bed…” I hear Harry say, but, I don’t hear footsteps on the stairs.
I lift my head up from George’s chest and look over at Ron and Harry, they’re staring at us.
“Do you need something?” George says annoyed, looking straight at his brother.
“she’s not supposed to be in here.” Ron says.
“You’re also not supposed to come to Hogwarts in a flying car, but, here we are.” George says, possibly even more annoyed, I smile.
Harry and Ron decide to go up the steps and George bends down to kiss me when we hear a commotion outside the portrait. We break away from each other and look towards the portrait hall as Hermione and Professor Mcgonagall come through, George immediately shields me behind him, though I think the ball gown is giving me away.
“Mr. Weasley, if you would kindly step away from Miss Wingrove.” She gives him a look and he steps to the side. I look at her and she doesn’t look happy as she flicks her wand towards the radio, turning it off. “Miss Granger wasn’t able to go through the portrait. Care to explain?” she looks cross.
“I may have transformed myself into her so i could come through…” I say carefully.
“Slytherins are not allowed in the Gryffindor common room. You know that.” She raises an eyebrow at me.
“I know. I’m sorry, I just, George wasn’t at the ball, he's my best friend…” I say, George grabs my hand and squeezes it.
“How did you get the password?” she asks.
“I waited close by, heard someone say it.” I say, there is no way I’m throwing Hermione or anyone under the bus. “I didn’t mean to cause problems, I just wanted to check on George.” I say, honestly.
“The portrait wouldn’t let Hermione through because a Hermione already went through earlier in a different dress.” Professor Mcgonagall eyes me. Hermione looks upset, kind of angry actually. “Fifteen points from Slytherin and Gryffindor. After holiday you will both spend a week in detention, separately. Mr. Weasley, you are at fault just as much as her.” She says, George nods in agreement. “Miss Wingrove, I sure hope I don't need you watched because of your ability.”
“This was the first time, I…I swear.” I lie. George represses a snort, this was definitely not the first time.
“Let’s go, Miss Wingrove.” She says, motioning for me to follow her, George let’s go of my hand as I walk away.
Professor Mcgonagall escorts me from the Gryffindor common room. I leave and I see Fred and Angelina walking towards the portrait. Fred winks at me as he sees where I just came from. I give a small smile and head to my dormitory, though, I’m not sure I’ll be getting any sleep tonight.
The train ride back to the muggle world was quite long, but, fun. I’m sat in the room with Fred and George and find it hard to keep my eyes opened.
“Do you think Hermione is mad at me?” I say, rubbing my eyes.
“if she is, she'll get over it.” Fred says, “besides, it was brilliant what you did.” Fred begins to eat a licorice wand, those are the worst.
