Chapter Ten Goodbye Party part one

Buddy's POV

So today we were making Veronica and Liam's cake for their party tomorrow. They were planning on leaving back to London on Friday night, but do you cited to stay until Saturday afternoon. They left the idea of how the cake should look like up to me. So, I decided to make a cake that Veronica first helped me make when she came to work at the bakery for the first time.

"Hey Buddy, what kind of cake are you making for the party tomorrow?" Mauro and Danny ask.
"Do you remember the first cake that Veronica helped me make when she first started working here when she turned 17?" I asked.
"Yeah. It was a pink to white cake with a lily on it. Why?" Danny asked.
"Well, I wanted to re-create the first thing that she made as well as the first cake she showed her Liam a few months after they started doing out." I explained.
"I remember that. Wasn't that the cake she made and brought it home and as soon as she brought it out to us, she introduced us to Liam?" Mauro asks.
"Yeah. I remember seeing her the day before when she was making it and she was stressing out so much because she thought that nobody would like him. She was hoping that Mom would love him as much as Lisa and I did." I said while laughing at the memory.
  "Need any help making it?" They ask.

  "Well of course. Besides, I had an extra twist I wanted to add to it. I wanna add a picture of them when they first started dating, to now with Liv being in the picture."
  "That sounds amazing. Does anyone else know about this?" Mauro asks.
  "Yeah, everyone knows about it. But just you two, Ralph and Joey are helping me with it. I just want it to be all of us working on it since she was closer with all of us growing up." I explained.
  "Your just rubbing it in to Lisa that she was a daddy's girl growing up." Danny said laughing as he got to work.
  The more I got into the cake, the more I blocked out any sound. I ended up making the cake out of both Red Velvet and chocolate fudge. After we finished, my sisters and wife came in looking for me.
  "Buddy this cake is beautiful. Who's it for?" Madeline asks walking up.
  "It's for Veronica and Liam's party tomorrow." I said well piping the last little bit to it.
  "I remember this cake! It was the first cake that you and Veronica made for a client that wanted a small wedding cake." My sister Lisa explained.
  "What was even funnier was when she tried to recreate it to give us when she came home one night so she could introduce us to Liam. It ended up being burnt because of being worried what we'd think, but we ended up loving him." Mary said laughing.
  "That's what my first thought was when I was trying to figure out what to make. I wanted to make something that she first made for all of us and the the one cake that she first made for both Liam and me meeting him for the first time." I explained.
  "What time is the party tomorrow and what time do you want all of us over at your place and do you want us to make anything?" Madeline asks.
  "I would say about 4 PM, and if you'd like to make something then bring something to pass. Lisa was thinking of making some pasta or ordering a pizza."
  "I already thought of something to bring before I asked. Something that Veronica always liked me making." She says before walking away.
  "What did she make that Veronica liked her making?" I asked looking over at Mauro.
  "You know how she always makes goulash with spaghetti noodles?" He asks.
  "Really? I thought Veronica pretended to eat it." I said while trying to think about the last time she had it.
  "It wasn't just her, we all did. It's not that it doesn't taste good, hers is just missing a few things. Like flavor and seasoning." He said while laughing.
After Mauro and I got started on the cake, Danny came over to help.

Three Hours Later

"That looks amazing guys. Veronica and Liam are gonna love it." My wife and sisters say while Mauro, Danny and I are stepping back from the cake.
"Thanks. Hopefully Veronica and Liam like it as well." I said smiling.
"We better get going so we can set up for the party and so everyone can get ready for tomorrow." Lisa said while we put the cake away.
"Your right. We'll see you guys tomorrow evening." I said before heading home.
