Chapter Twenty

Veronica's POV

  "So you about ready to head over to your grandma's place?" My mum asks walking in my room.
  "Yeah but I'm kinda nervous. What if she doesn't remember me? Or what if I won't get to see her ever again?" I ask.
  "Oh hunny, you'll definitely see her again. If she has it her way, she's gonna be seeing you every single day." Mum jokes.
  "You guys ready to go? Your Aunt Mary is wondering where everyone's at." Dad yells from downstairs.
  "We're coming. Don't get your knickers in a twist!" I yelled back.
  "Someone hasn't lost their sass." Mum laughs once we get downstairs.
  "It never left." Liam chimed in. I rolled my eyes.

At Grandma Mary's

  "So how are we gonna do this again?" Liam asks getting out of the car.
  "Your gonna be our in the hallway with Bear while I'm telling my gran that I have someone I want her to meet. That's when I'm gonna come get you and we introduce her to Bear." I explained for the billionth time.
  "I still don't understand why we don't just bring him in with us and just do it that way." He sighs.
  "I'm with Liam. Seem's less complicated." Dad explains.
Before I could say anything we arrived to my grandma's place. Once we park, I took Bear out of his car seat while my dad took Liv.
  "I have a better idea. She doesn't know that any of you are here, so what if we told her that we had a surprise for her then I come and get you." Dad suggests.
  "I love that idea. Where do you want us to wait at?" Liam asks.
"I'll have you guys wait in the hallway then I'll have your mom come get you. Sound good?" He asks. We nodded.
Once we all go inside I see Uncle Mauro waiting inside for us.
"Hey you two. How're these two munchkins?" He asks smiling as he reaches out for them.
"We're doing good." Liam smiles as he hands over Bear.
  As we continue to walk further, Uncle Mauro explains that he was gonna take the kids inside and see how long it would take before Grandma Mary took to notice that there were two babies.
  "I really like that idea. Think anyone like Aunt Mary will say anything?" I ask.
  "She might mention something but not allowed." He explains while taking Olivia and heading inside the room where everyone was at.
  As we were looking inside the window, my parents look from Mauro to us back to Mauro. Then after about five minutes we get the signal to quietly and slowly come in.
  "Hey grandma. What do you think of those two babies?" I ask from behind her.
  "Oh they're really adorable. The little girl looks just like Veronica when she was a baby." She explains not paying attention.
  "Hey mama, can you look behind you really quick?" Dad asks.
  When she turns her head to the side, she instantly gets a huge smile and starts to get tears in her eyes.
  "Oh Roni! I've missed you so much. And those babies! They're so beautiful."  She explains while you and Liam hug her.
