Chapter- 9

(Gum)
The morning lemon sun rose high above the line. Sticking towards the middle of the land of Ooo, and the bottom of the cloud kingdom. I got out of bed and instantly stretched, allowing a nice yawn to escape my throat. I turned back to fix the bed then went over to my closet. My hands reached out for a pair of purple skinny jeans and long sleeved green shirt. I was actually about to change right there but then I remembered that there was a giant cage in the middle of my room with a guy that may be faking his sleep and may be waiting or a perfect moment to strike. It sounds over-exaggerated but it's still possible.
So I scurried with my clothes in arms towards the bathroom or risk the embarrassment. Either way, I actually still had to take a shower anyways. A nice, long, hot, shower. Then kingly duties. Hehe. . . duty.
(Marshall)
I waited for him to disappear before I even tried to once again escape. I don't understand, How can bars made by stupid mountain people be so fricking strong?!?! Shouldn't people on the mountains be all cheery and nice? Stereotypical like?
Suddenly I sensed a nearby presence in the room and went back to pretending I was asleep. with my back towards the door to Gumball's room, I didn't see who walked in, but I could smell them. And they smelt like tree sap. I didn't even have to look at her before saying, "Human girl." My body rolled onto it's other side to look at the blue eyed blonde, staring down at me with confusion and contempt.
"Why?"
She said with a shaky tone. I lied on my back to stair at the ceiling of the golden cage and replied, "Because I don't want to sit around in a cage like--" She cut me off though with, "That's not what I mean. Why did you leave Gumball that night?" My breath hitched, recalling that one night oh so long ago. My fingers clinged tightly to the now white sweater's cuffs like they would fall off. "I guess," I didn't really know but she wants an anser so, "He seems to be doing fine." Her posture didn't change in the slightest meaning that she wasn't satisfied with my answer.
"Look at him- well maybe not at the moment. But. Isn't he a king now. Sugar boy should be caring more about his kingdom more than anything else right now. I mean, isn't that what kings do?"
Before she could even reply I added in, "I'm still not king nor do I plan on it so don't try messing up my sentence." Her body drastically slumped in dissapointment, causing me to smile. She saw this and when her eyes widened I reverted the sides of my lips to straigten back into a thin line. We stared at each other for a while before I broke it, "Where is your cat human?"
She put on an annoyed face, "First things first, {I'm a realist} my name is Fiona! And that cat you're talking about is named Cake. She's in the stables looking for her boyfriend." I nodded and continued asking, "Do you have a boyfriend?" Perfect red lines appeared on her pale white skin. Honestly I would have thought she would be much more tan rather than this for an adventurer.
Fiona turned into a different direction and said, "Yes. Yes I do!" A smirk climbed onto my face, "Was it that nightlight guy?" She gave me an angered look for insulting him, "It's called fire! Anyways, yes, that's him. And he loves running his kingdom!"
I clicked my tongue on the roof of my mouth and flew up so that I hung upside down. "Does he really? Have you actually asked such a question to him?" Before she could reply I continued to add on, "No? Looks like you haven't. You've never really thought of asking such a stressing question to the one you love." She looked hurt, and I'm not sure whether I intended that to happen or not. If I'm ever going to escape this sugar kingdom, 'take advantage of the situation to gain the trust needed.'
Instead of saying some hurtful thing like, 'That's what makes you stupid. Humans are stupid. That's why their all gone.'
I went towards a much better approach, "And that's what makes you a good person," her sad face turned into one of confusion. "You aren't willing to break something that you feel be so perefect." Now I'm starting to feel like a therapist for couples and getting a one-side story to the whole thing. Gross.
Fiona understood what I was saying, just not why I had been saying it. I admit to myself that I sound pretty weird but this is all for the sake of leaving. The longer I stay the greater the risk of mother finding my location and tearing this kingdom apart till I am found. Just so she can sell me off to another kingdom bitch and be turned into a king. No. Lemon. Way.
The tall white ears connected to her hat bobbed side-to-side out of akward discomfort. Neither one of us knew what to say next so we just stayed silent, sadly though it wasn't something we shrugged off. Inside the bathroom, the pittering sound of the shower simmered to a stop and metal rings that held curtains sounded off as they slid against another metal bar. Shuffling feet stepped around for up to 5 minutes before the door opened to see Gumball with his choice of clothes sticking to his body a slight bit, and a pink towel wrapped around his head. He had his hands on each side of his face, pressing onto the fabric and rubbing in circles to dry multiple areas.
The Candy King noticed his best friend in the room, along with the Nightosphere freak, being me, were both waiting for him. His pink cheeks turned a light shade of red out of embarresment and he started swishing the towel quickly on his hair. Out of my crazy habit, I used to imagine him doing this. For one, I had fallen in love with this dude as a kid and couldn't possibly forget him. And two, all my imagination did was replay him doing the whole thing. . . in s. l. o. w. m. o. t. i. o. n.
My hand smacked itself above my mouth to savor a cough that was going to come out. 'I hate you so much Candy King.'

If you read all my stories and haven't noticed by now, I always update what had been done the last. If you don't understand what I mean by that then I'll tell you. It means that I haven't updated one of my stories such as this for the longest time and decide to type up for this one. BAM!
I'm also starting to rethink about having this story being a Reverse!Gumlee. My inspiration towards it is losing itself and I feel like I need to revert to regular (Marshall on top) and (Gumball on bottom) stuff.
