Chapter- 10
---------------
(Gum-Gum)
After finishing up with the whole changing, fixing of hair, and repeating my schedule to myself along with Fiona and Marshall, I began my day. Of course though, I must have Marshall along and in sight at all times. Fi-Fi happily volunteered to using a magic string of hers as a leash to tame such a beast. We acted like the citizens in Beauty and the Beast when they talked about. . . that's right! Bell! Marshall on the other hand, was not very amused.
Concluding to the part where we're walking through my kingdom's streets, awakening my people to a brand new day. Obviously, not trying to be narcissistic here, my citizens would wave and smile at Fiona and I. But when it came to the demon-Prince, most would quake with fear yet some tried to act brave. Hoping that their king wouldn't even hear them, they attempted to whisper insults at the enemy. Honestly there weren't any really good insults since the people are too sweet for that but at least they gave it a go.
Marshall never seemed to be affected by it. Occasionally he would say a simple, "Boo!" to a candy which made them have mini-heart attacks right on the spot. Fiona would then smack him upside the head but again I repeat, no affect. When he wasn't playing terrorist he would be gazing at each and every structure of the buildings. I turned back to him, "Like what you see?"
As we passed a cherry apple home I heard his stomach growl and he replied, "All of this red is making me hungry." His belly continued to roar, adding more fear to the people. Out of their sake's, I scurried even faster to my first stop of the day which was helping the spice candy family to rebuild their house. Children had been playing jawbreaker-ball {Baseball} and every time they made a hit, they didn't pay attention as to where their ball went, just moved on to the next one. Well, all of those jawbreakers had mysteriously found themselves into the Gumdrop-family home. Rebuilding would take a while since we had been still waiting to get some sacks of jello mix and powdered sugar from the Breakfast kingdom.
When we first arrived the banana guards were already holding the needed tools and other supplies for construction. He handed over to me and Fi-Fi a pair of gloves, goggles, and overalls. We placed them on and I directed Fiona to hook Marshall up to something sturdy, made of the same compound like the jawbreaker. Kids tried poking him with sugar canes and he just made scary faces. Even though others were terrified and trying their best to drag their children away, these little ones made funny faces back, thinking it was only a joke.
I couldn't help but let go of a concealed giggle. Fiona smiled brightly since she rarely saw me ever do it when I'm not around her, not even with the rest of the gang. Good thing nobody else but her had actually heard me though, I try to keep a stiff composition like my father when he was alive. Same thing goes for my mother. Marshall gave multiple efforts to breaking away from the ribbon/leash but to no avail. Soon enough he just gave up with a pout and sat on levitated air. A ten-foot emptiness surrounding him.
Getting back to the main task at hand, I clapped my hands together to allow any excess powder to fly away then dissolve. "Alright everyone," I shouted out, "Time to get started with building this home back up from scratch!" Multiple cheers sounded off around, just barely did I hear Marshall's little sarcastic woop in the background.
We started getting to work, first having to create the gelatin. Soon after, we began to form the the base of the house to the liking of the family. Next came to applying an extra coating of the gelatin to make sure it was stiff enough to hold in place before showering it with the powdered sugar. Fiona once again volunteered herself to go on the roof with me and help finish that up. After fully completing it, we just cheered all over again.
The Gumdrops thanked everyone that had helped rebuild their home before actually going inside to take a look at it. Banana guards returned to their usual duties while Fiona untied demon-boy, ready to set off on the next task of the day. Gardening.
You should know from your old history lessons about trading between places. Though we are not countries, we are kingdoms. Since the Candy kingdom borrowed supplies from the Breakfast, I have always given something back in return. Wonka Fruit Runts. They use this candy by crushing it into dust then mixturizing it into different containers of water to create their juices, or all together to make more pizzazed flavors.
I can already imagine Marshall, swimming in the strawberry juice, a smile on his face and---. . . . . . 'Oh dear sweets. Gumball you're doing it once again! Now stop it!'
I let out a low groan then a sigh. 'Ugh. Why did the dream ever have to become true???'
