"Are you sure this is a good idea? Remember you're still recovering" Plagg warned as I opened my window and gazed out at the darkening horizon.

"I have to Plagg. That girl, Marinette, may be just the thing I need to help me regain my memories!"

"Look, I'm not arguing with that, I just don't think you should go around over-exerting yourself" I gave him a sympathetic smile.

"Even if you act all surly and detached, it's clear that you're nothing but a big softie!" I teased.

"Hey! I resent that comment!" he retorted, his little nubs pressed firmly against his hips.

"Claws out!"

The evening breeze felt good against my skin. It was a cold evening, colder than the night before. I Let my mind wander as I leaped over roof-tops and alleyways. The feeling was familiar, comforting even. That feeling of freedom and adrenaline that coursed through my veins as I approached the Dupain-Cheng's bakery triggered an undeniable case of deja' vu.

"Woah..." I swayed as I landed on the familiar terrace. My head ached as traces of memories fought to piece themselves together. "Maybe Plagg was right. Maybe I am over-exerting myself..." I thought out loud as I placed a firm hand on the railing.

After I managed to steady my breathing, I gathered the courage and knocked on the trap door. "Evening Purrincess!" I greeted with a smile and an exaggerated bow. My smile faded when I caught sight of her eyes. They were puffy and red. She'd obviously been crying.

"Go home, Cat..." she muttered coldly as she turned to make her way inside again.

"Please, give me a chance Purrincess!" She glared at me wearily as I stuck my baton in the trap door, preventing it from closing. "If there's anything that could help me remember this past year, I'd really like to try..." I begged pitifully. After a long period of contemplation, she pushed the door open all the way.

"Make it quick..." she muttered before making her way down stairs. I followed cautiously. As far as I remembered, this was the first time I had been in this girl's room.

"Wow!" I mused when I laid eyes on all the designs she had pasted on her walls. A large Jagged Stone cut out rested against one corner, along with the cover for his latest album. "Woah, you like Jagged stone too!?" I mused as I studied the recognizable signature at the bottom of the cut out.

"Yeah..." she muttered as she sat down in her computer chair and continued to sew. I walked back towards the mannequin that was by the staircase. A beautiful red and black polka-dotted dress covered it's cloth frame.

"Did you make this?" I asked incredulously as I admired the quality of the stitching. She nodded, eyeing me curiously.

"No wonder my dad wants me to shadow this girl. She's immensely talented!" I mused to myself as my eyes came to rest on a blue and yellow bracelet that was placed on her dresser. I picked it up carefully between my claws and studied it. "Hm..." I muttered as a sense of familiarity washed over me. After placing the bracelet back where it belonged, I made my way over to her wall of pictures.

Magazine cut outs and pictures of her friends covered the walls. One picture in particular, caught my attention. It was a picture of her with my civilian self. I had my arm wrapped around her waist as we both smiled for the camera. "Aghh!" A waved of pain hit my head like a ton of bricks. Instinctively, I clutched my head as my knees buckled under the pain.

"Cat! Cat what's wrong!" Marinette jumped to her feet and was at my side in a second.

"AAAH!!" I growled again, the pain intensifying. Fragments and pictures sped through my head with astounding velocity. I tripped over my tail and fell to the floor, still clutching my throbbing head.

"Cat, your ring!" Marinette gasped as she pointed down. I glanced down to see electricity circling the black band.

"W-what's happening to me!" I hissed as the electricity spread to the rest of my body. "Fuuck!!" a shrill yelp escaped my throat as the ring shocked me.

"What can I do!?" Marinette asked frantically, her eyes brimming with tears.

"Help...me..." I managed to utter in between gasps. At that point the pain got so intense that my vision began to blur. "Marinette, I'm sorry..." were the last words that came out of my mouth before I lost consciousness.
