Chapter 29
|Keith Daniels|
Khail has been doing good in school. I'm happy I get to be with my son. He acts as if Alyana never did anything. Both our wounds were completely healing. We were able to get our bandages taken off, but we still had to be careful. I started back going to work today, so that was a start for me. Since Khail go to the same school as Lonnie girls she's picking him up for me and bringing him here.
As for Alyana the judge sentenced her twenty years in prison for attempted murder. I know she's devastated. That's twenty years not seeing her son or watching him grow. Or seeing him graduate from high school or college. These are things that a mother and father need to see, but I guess things don't always happen that way.

"Daddy!" Khail yelled coming in my office. I looked up from my laptop. To see my son, Lonnie, and my nieces.
"Wassup little man?"
"I'm a big man not a little man." He said.
"My bad big man." I said ruffling his hair. I hugged Lonnie and then my nieces.
"How you feeling?" She asked.
"Can't complain. I'm just taking it one day at a time." I said. She nodded.
"What about Khail?"
"He doing better. I just still can't get through to him some days when it comes to Alyana, so I just stopped trying. He finally stopped having nightmares too so I just don't talk about her." She looked at me.
"Nightmares?" I nodded. I glanced to see them watching the TV I had put in my office for him.
"When we came back from from Florida he'd wake up in the middle of the night crying and screaming for help. He did that for about two weeks until he started sleeping peacefully again." I said.
"She made an huge impact on him from what happened. I think you shouldn't pressure him into forgiving Alyana so quickly. Let him do that in his own time. He's only six, he's still a child. Let him continue to stay that way. Maybe when he gets older he'll forgive her, but right now let it go." She said. I listened to what she said. Maybe she right I need to meet him work on it on his own instead of pushing it.
"Thanks Lonnie boo boo." I said. She rolled her eyes playfully.
"I need to get my kids and go home before Rony send a search party for us. Khail has homework." She said. I nodded.
"Remember what I said Keith and make sure he do his homework." Lonnie said before walking out. She swear she everybody momma.
"Khail turn off that TV and get started on your homework."
"But dad it was just getting to the good part." He whined. I looked at him.
"And my belt gone get you to the finale. Now turn it off and do your work. The faster you get it down then faster you can go back to watching TV." I said. He turned off the TV. I watched him pull out sine papers from his backpack before sitting at the table.
God help me wth raising him cause I'm going to need it.
