Chapter 8

"Wake up Maya." Someone tells me.I sit up and see Ivy standing by my bed. "Come one Maya get up and get ready." Ivy tells me and starts to pull me off the bed.

"I'm getting up. I promise." I mumble.

"Hurry up." Ivy tells me then gets out of my room.

I do my usual morning routine then head down stairs in my workout outfit. 

" Look who finally showed up." Kai says.

"Sorry guys." I respond.

"Did you wait up for your brother." Blake asks and I nod my head yes. Then my brother walks in.

"Hey guys." Alex says.

"If you stay out that late again without a good reason you better be prepared to wake up early the next day." Dad yells at him.

"Well, Maya stayed out later than that and she got to skip school the next day." Alex yells back. I just stare at him.

"And trust me she had a reason to stay out that late."

"Oh yeah! What was it?"

"That's not any of your business. If she wants to tell you she will."

"Fine. But I had a good reason."

"You finding your mate and skipping school with her is not a reason to skip school and miss supper with us." Dad looks like he is calming down.

"I think it is."

"This conversation is over let's eat then run."

It is quite the whole time we are eating and for the first time I am not sitting next to Alex. I am am sitting in between Blake and Ivy. Once we finish  I find Alex because he is my partner.

"Hey we need to talk." Alex whispers to me.

"Ok what about."

"Are you ok with the about of time I am spending with Trinity."

"Honestly, I...um.... kinda miss getting to hang out with you."

"So you agree with dad, is it so hard for you to be happy for me." He yells and everyone stops. And so do we.

"I am happy for you, I just think you should also think about us not just her. Late night you didn't even realize I was in the kitchen you just walked right by me like I didn't even exist." I yell then run of and transform before I do something stupid.

I can't believe him. He is so wrapped up in Trinity it's like I don't even exist. I hate him right now. How could he we have always been there for each other and now...

I know.   Blake thinks.

Who's all transformed?   I think.

Just me and Kai we didn't want you to get hurt so we decided to come and make sure you are ok.

So are you.   Kai thinks.

No.  I think then I stop running and see them right behind me. We three cuddle together. Which is the way wolfs comfort each other in wolf form. We stay like that for a couple minutes then we head back to the pack house and go to where we find clothes and I go away from the boy transform back and get dressed then I head back to the house where the boys are waiting on me. Then we three head to school.

We are earlier than the rest of the pack which surprises everyone who was already there, but they already know not to ask any questions.

Ten minutes later the rest of the pack arrived except for Alex. They walk over to us.

"Hey you ok Maya?" Noah asks.

"I'm fine. Let's go to class."

They walk me to class then head to their class. I look around and I find Trinity, but Alex isn't there with her.

"Where is Alex? You two are almost never apart." A girl from class asks.

I look and see Jake walk in to the classroom. He looks over at me, then a look of confusion crosses his face. He walks over to me and sits beside me.

"Hey, where is Alex?" Jake asks.

"I don't know. Why should I?" I turn and see Trinity looking at me. She looks kinda sad.

"He didn't talk to you about it did he?" She asks.

"No. But I am not mad at you, I promise."

"Just so you know, I knew you were in the living room."

"He didn't though." I look back at Jake and he just stares at me.

"You know just because Alex is my best friend you can still talk to me about what happened, because I honestly see you as a sister." He tells me.

"I will tell you later, ok. Meet me at lunch." I say then the teacher walks in and starts teaching.

Nothing happens in the rest of my class before lunch, Alex did end up showing up, but not for the classes we share. At lunch Jake sits with our pack and Alex doesn't come.

"So what is up with you and Alex?" Jale asks.

I tell him everything that has happened starting at him finding his mate to this morning.

"Wow. Um... I don't know why he would act like that, but I think you should talk to him. Think about when you find your mate, you never know you might do the same thing."

"I know I won't do the same thing as him, but I also know i should talk to him. I have just kinda been hoping he would come and talk to me." I look away from Jake about to cry.

"Hey, Maya come with me." Jake says and grabs my arm. He leads me outside into the woods right next to the school, and we keep walking.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"Just follow me, ok?"

We walk a little longer then we get to a field full of flowers.

"It's beautiful." I say.

"This is where I go if I need some time away from people." He looks at me and smiles. "Ok so now act like I am your brother, ok. You can yell at me or punch me, just do what ever you think will help you feel better. No one can hear us we are to far from the school."

"I am not going to yell at you or punch you."

"Come on I promise I want you to do this. Just give it a try, ok?"

"Fine I will try it." I tell him. I start thinking of everything Alex has said to me this morning, I think of how he keeps ditching me for Trinity and all of a sudden I don't see Jake anymore, I see Alex.

"I can't believe that you keep ditching me! Why can't you see that I want to spend time with you too?! You didn't even realize I was in the room with you last night when you got home! It's like you have completely forgot about me!"

I faintly hear Jake say  "Go ahead and punch me. I promise that you won't hurt me."

Then I completely lose it still yelling I punch him a couple times then I fall to the ground and just cry. Jake sits down on the ground and holds me while I cry.

"Sorry... I am sorry." I keep mumbling.

"It's fine. I told you too." Jake says back.

When I finally stop crying, we just lay there and stare at the sky for what feels like hours.

"Hey we should probably go, school just ended." Jake says.

"Thanks Jake, I really needed this."

"Really it wasn't a problem. Your like a sister to me. And of you every need me I promise I am here to talk even if I find a mate or you find a mate, I will always be here to talk."

"Thank you. Now let's get going my pack might be worried."
