Luke’s POV
It was a cold Monday morning, and Luke was packing his gear into his car. He was surprised he actually owned everything he needed for this trip, considering he wasn't really the outdoors type of guy. He got in his car and started toward the lodge, where the group would meet and go from there together. “Why am I sweating again?? It’s fucking 45 degrees!” He knew why, but continued to ignore it again.. all his butterflies and excitement, to be with Ashton for a whole week. Non-stop. He put on some Simple Plan to try to ease his nerves.
Ashton’s POV
Ashton pulled up to the lodge and saw a group of three other guys about his age standing in front, he assumed that was his group. He walked up to him to introduce himself. “Hi, I’m Ashton! I assume this is the group for the guided week trip?” “You bet it is!!” exclaimed a guy with dark, long-hair with dimples in his cheeks. He stuck out his hand to Ashton. “Harry Styles! Nice to meet you. I will be guiding this trip this week. Hope you're excited!” Just as Ashton could respond he heard a car squeal into the lot and slam into a pole. He realised it was Luke. Luke’s airbags inflated and he quickly got out of the car. “Shit, Luke! Are you okay?!” Ashton ran towards him.
Luke’s POV
Luke stepped out of the car and observed the damage he did. “Uh, I’m gonna fix fix that.” He awkwardly pointed to pole, even though everyone obviously knew what he was talking about. “Are you okay, buddy? What happened right then??” Ashton said with a worried look as he placed his arm on Luke’s shoulder. As soon as he did, Luke lost everything that was happening in the moment and his cheeks went red. “Ashton is so caring and sweet.” he thought to himself. He snapped back in to reality. “Uh, I don’t really know. Just got distracted.” Ashton looked at him, puzzled. “By what, Luke? We’re basically in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees and a lodge.” Luke kept his head down hiding his continually red cheeks and tried to come up with an excuse. Inside he knew why, it was the sight of Ashton. “Damn him and his face and perfect hair and his bandana.” he thought. His bandana just topped off his completely good looks as a complete turn on to Luke. “Uh, well..” “It’s really fine, guys!” yelled Harry as he walked over to them, "we just need to get going soon. Someone will take care of it.” They started walking back to the group and Luke sighed with relief, thanking Harry for getting him out of that. “All right, everybody,” said Harry in his enthusiastic tone, “let’s get our stuff packed in the truck and get going!” Luke and Ashton grabbed their things and threw them in the back of the truck. They got in their seats as they prepared to go up the mountain. Luke glanced out the window and saw Harry going down his checklist, making sure everything was perfect. He pointed to Harry, “I don't know if I can handle this guy for a week,” he said to Ashton. They both giggled and smiled at one another. Ashton leaned to Luke, “I hope this is a really fun trip, buddy. Thanks again for coming with me.” Ashton gave him a strong pat on the shoulder, and Luke could feel his cheeks going red again. “No problem. It’ll be great!” Ashton actually had no idea how excited Luke was to be there with him. They remained silent for the next few moments as Harry and the other two guys entered the bus. “Alright, guys! Looks like we’re heading off! Anyone you need to say goodbye to before we leave?” His face got serious for a couple seconds, then he broke it and slapped his knee. “You should've seen your faces! Relax guys, it’s a safe trip, done it a million times myself.” Luke looked down and sighed with relief. He was already nervous about the trip for some reason, the last thing he wanted to worry about was getting hurt, or worse, Ashton getting hurt. He put in his earbuds as an attempt to be more calm, and the bus drove up the mountain.
