"Oh my god, Min-Ah! I'm so sorry I'm late. The meeting ran for so long and I had to tend to another client," Hae said as soon as she slid into the booth, grabbing the menu. "Wolfgang's been so kind to me thus far," she chuckled.
Park Jimin could only gawk at the rambling creature in front of him, talking a mile a minute as she slid into the booth he was sharing with Taemin who was trying to hold back his laughter.
"Uh...Miss —" he began.
"I've always been late to all my reservations here! Let's eat, shall we? How about we get some fresh oysters on the half shell with the Beverly Hills chopped salad to start? You don't mind my ordering for you, right? For the mains, let's get the ribe-eye steak medium with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach on the side. I would get the prime rib but we can never seem to finish it."
Jimin's eyes widened as she talked over him. He could only stare at her. She was completely oblivious to her surroundings. Her eyes hungrily scanned the menu as she ratted off item after item. He glanced at Taemin who was quietly chuckling and shrugged.
"Uh... Ms. Soo?"
"Yes?" The creature looked up and Jimin found himself staring into the biggest eyes he'd ever seen.
She gasped, looking like a deer caught in the headlights and he saw a faint blush creep into her face when she realized that she was in the company of total strangers.
She narrowed her eyes at him and cocked her head to the side. A flash of recognition.
She didn't look Korean as far as he could tell yet she carried a Korean name. She spoke with a faint accent but her Korean was flawless. Jimin was intrigued.
"Joesonghamnida," she mumbled as she timidly gathered her things. She got up as quickly as she could, bowed, "I'm so sorry for interrupting your dinner," and she was gone.
"What did just happen?" Taemin exclaimed. He shook his head trying to control his laughter. "I really want to laugh out loud right now but I don't want to embarrass her any further."
"Don't, please," Jimin said. He smiled, "She does have great taste in food though. Let's get what she's having? She makes them sound so delicious," he grinned.
Taemin cocked his head and looked at Jimin, "If you say so," he said, eyes twinkling. "Oh boy, this is going to be interesting."
"What?!" Jimin burst out laughing. "She saved us a whole lot of time deciding on what to eat. I'm hungry Taemin, she basically ordered a complete course for us."
"Okay, okay, Park Jimin," Taemin raised his hands in mock surrender. "If you say so."
He called over the staff, "Hi! We'll have what — what's her name? Ms. Soo? — and her friend are having."
"The Beverly Hilld chopped salad and oysters to start, please." Jimin interjected. He smiled at Taemin being smooth trying to find out her name from the staff. "What else did Ms. Soo say?" he asked the staff.
"Ms. Soo prefers our rib-eye medium done with a side of mashed potatoes and creamed spinach," the staff offered. "She often pairs them with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon."
"Perfect," said Taemin. "Excuse me, sir, may we know what Ms. Soo's full name is, if that's okay?" Real smooth Taemin, Jimin thought, mentally face palming himself. He kept a straight face as he saw the staff's raised eyebrows.
"We want to be able to thank her later for her recommendation," Taemin said. "We also want to compliment her on her great taste in food," he added.
Stop right there, dummy. Jimin wanted to grab Taemin and shake some sense into him. He felt the staff was starting to catch on to them and he was worried that he would say something to her.
The staff smiled, "Of course, sir. Her name is Soo Yun Hae. She's a young executive who comes here often with her friend and colleagues. Wolfgang's her favorite," he added proudly. "She's often late as you can tell but she's absolutely wonderful and nice to everyone here," the staff laughed a little.
Jimin smiled ruefully. Looks like I'm not the only one crushing on her. He thought. Wait —what?
"Earth to Jiminie," Taemin snapped him out his reverie. "Did you get that? Her name?" He winked at him.
"Soo Yun Hae. Yes. Yes, I did." Jimin nodded.
