"Argh!" Yun Hae groaned. She hung her head in shame and sent dagger looks to her friend who was doubled over in laughter. "Why the hell did you let me carry on like that?!"
"Mianhae! But I was sooo embarrassed for you and maybe — enjoying it a little too much?" Min-Ah slapped the table in glee. She couldn't believed what just happened.
"Some best friend you are," Yun Hae pouted. "You couldn't even save me! That was so embarrassing. How am I going to face them now? And why did you have to choose such a private booth all the way here?"
"What? Now it's my fault you weren't paying attention?" Min-Ah looked at her friend incredulously.
"You're always on your phone responding to emails that you don't really see the world around you. Tell me I'm wrong, Yun Hae," Min-Ah declared matter of factly.
"Tell me about your new friends!" she teased when she saw Yun Hae's frown deepen. She was enjoying this too much.
"I will have you know that if they were just ordinary restaurant goers I wouldn't be this embarrassed," Yun Hae bit her lip as a new wave of embarrassment flowed through her.
As soon as she looked up from the menu, she found herself face to face with the last person on earth she expected to run into. Park Fucking Jimin. It just had to be Park Jimin. Main dancer extraordinaire and lead vocalist of the biggest boyband in the whole world, BTS.
"Park Jimin and Lee Taemin are enjoying a quiet dinner in one of the best steakhouses in Gangnam and I just happened to slide into their booth no problem," Yun Hae said. She wanted to dissolve into a pool of water and slide out of the restaurant pronto. "I must look like a sasaeng!"
"You just don't run into Kpop idols in restaurants, right?" She added, "Just my luck running into two of the most popular idols this side of the world, if not the universe, and I JUST HAD TO MAKE A TOTAL FOOL OF MYSELF!"
"WHAT?" Min-Ah's jaw dropped.
"No fucking way! No, you're shitting me right now, Yun Hae. There's no way in hell that you were in the presence of Kpop royalty!" she shrieked and immediately caught herself when Yun Hae lifted a finger to her lips, motioning her to keep it down.
"Are you crazy? Do you want them to hear us fangirling over here?" Yun Hae groaned.
"Okay, I'm sorry! It's just — wow! What are the odds?"
Yun Hae shook her head in disbelief. What are the odds? Over a thousand restaurants in Gangnam and they just had to choose Wolfgang's.
"Do something cute, Yun Hae!" Min-Ah pleaded. "You have to redeem yourself. You're not some bumbling idiot. You're Soo Yun Hae for pete's sake!"
Yun Hae realized her friend was right. No use wasting her time feeling sorry and embarrassed for herself. She was a capable and accomplished woman and she was sure as hell that that was going to be Park Jimin's impression of her before this night was over.
Time to blow their socks off.
She raised her hand and called a staff over. "Hi! I'd like two glasses of Monkey Shoulder over ice with a splash of soda for the gentlemen over there."

Jimin ran his fingers languidly around his wine glass. He couldn't get Soo Yun Hae and her voice, breathy from excitement, out of his mind.
I wonder if she sounds like that in bed?
Jimin shook his head vigorously and ran his hands through his hair. He licked his lips and groaned. Has it been THAT long that the sight of an attractive woman is sending my libido into a frenzy? What are you? Twelve? Jimin berated himself.
Where are these thoughts coming from? Who are you Soo Yun Hae?
He took a big gulp of wine, nervous at where his thoughts were leading him. How could she have such an effect on him at such a short amount of time?
Women were nothing special to Jimin at this point in his life. He was surrounded with beautiful women all the time. Actresses, idols, trainees, stylists. Heck, even the Armies who flock to their concerts around the world and fan meets were gorgeous but they all had one thing in common.
He associated them too much with work. Sure he'd dated a few times, always under the radar but at the end of the day, BTS always took precedence.
BTS was at the height of their career and dating was something that had taken the back burner for most of them except for Seokjin hyung who was always caught up in a dating rumor.
"Jimin, you can't Jim-out on me." Taemin snapped his fingers and smiled wickedly. Taemin looked at Jimin and knew his friend was done for.
"It took us forever to schedule this dinner, man. And your little vixen's food recommendation is hitting all the right spots. Come back to me, will ya?" Taemin chortled as Jimin turned a bright shade of red.
Jimin licked his lip (again) and laughed, "Aish, what are you talking about? Stop teasing me. She's not my little vixen. She's a vixen, yes, but not mine, yet. Whatever. Let's eat."
"What did you say?"
"What? Nothing."
"I wouldn't have to tease you if you weren't two booths away from me," Taemin couldn't help it. His friend was so lost in thought over Soo Yun Hae. He craned his neck to get a better view of her and saw her talking to one of the staff.
Taemin observed her quietly, impressed with the ease and confidence with which she conversed with the staff. She was patient with him and generous with her smiles. She looked like a decent person and the staff all seemed to like her.
She was not bad-looking either. She was attractive, in fact, in an intoxicating, intimidating kind of way. She had a look about her that demanded your entire attention.
When she plopped into their booth like she owned the world, there was nothing cute and timid about her. And the way she lorded over the menu told Taemin that she was a woman who knew what she wanted and was not so easily impressed.
A go-getter. Jimin needed someone like that. Someone who wouldn't fangirl over him. Someone who could knock some sense into him when the doubts start creeping in again. For all his successes, Taemin knew his friend never quite got rid of all the self-doubt he battled with as a trainee. Soo Yun Hae looked liked someone who could keep his demons at bay.
I ship it. Taemin concluded.
God knows his friend needed a good kind of distraction in his life and maybe this Soo Yun Hae would be it.
"Excuse me, sir," the staff Yun Hae was talking to earlier had approached them with a couple glasses of scotch and a note. "Compliments of Ms. Soo. She hopes you enjoy the rest of your night."
"Thank you," said a surprised Jimin as he accepted the note. Taemin took the drinks and sent the staff on his way.
"I'm awfully sorry for interrupting your dinner. It would mean so much to me if you would so kindly forget that I exist. Cheers!
Soo Yun Hae"
Jimin threw back his head in laughter and handed Taemin the note, "I love a girl with a sense of humor."
