one week later
jungkook didn't want to go to school.
it scared him and he was overthinkinking any little message he got from the strange person. until then, he'd replied only once and they seemed to ignore him the way jungkook did before.
not that the brunette really cared, he hid out in his room, only occasionally leaving it for snacks. his parents were worried but they also expected to be helpless. it was jungkook's usual behavior when he avoided a problem, not facing it and trying to push the thought away.
during the time he'd spent alone, his phone had been constantly on airplane mode to not let anyone into his life. the curtains closed, he laid in his bed all day, either sleeping or staring at the white, monotonous ceiling with his thoughts circling around the stranger.
why would he call me a liar? why would he tell me to stay away from whoever he was talking about? was he talking about taehyung?
and the last picture that always popped up in his head at the end of one chain of thoughts was the one of taehyung and soohun walking together with bright, smiling faces.
clearly, jungkook wasn't in his best state of health. this strange person was blackmailing, threatening him and he had been really scared at the beginning but the fear had begun to fade.
little by little, jungkook's heart beat clearly again, not as fast as it used to beat when he would leave the house, and so...weeks passed.
the young man was left with one of two parts of an empty heart.
he knew, the one who held the other side had filled it well with beautiful memories, the ones that had often hurt jungkook when he went to sleep.
many nights, jungkook had cried himself to sleep.
many days, jungkook had skipped school....just to avoid what he couldn't deny anymore.
he'd lost taehyung, he knew that, and he hadn't even been able to stop the things that were going on.
the rain of the gloomy afternoon in seoul was creating quiet sounds in the boy's room. his fingers swept over the keys of the piano he hadn't played in years. an empty mind, without dreams, just himself and the instrument.
it felt like a relief to jungkook to touch the keys, remember the melodies he used to love. the ones that, whenever he was alone, made him feel joy. surrounded by a beautiful atmosphere that only he could realize.
and that day, he played the song he had hated the most as a child.
"i wish that you would love me... and not let go of my hand like yesterday..."
he was deep into the song as suddenly his legs began to carry him and he started to walk. out into the rain and through the cities of seoul. without jungkook even noticing, his legs moved quicker and quicker with every step that led him closer to his destination.
even if jungkook already knew he had lost him, the one person that had been on his mind for months now, he should know. all the boy wanted was to be with taehyung.
so when he stumbled across the street to knock at his door, he was surprised to see it standing open. he could hear voices from the outside as the door creeked, the usually bright corridor to the living room being dark. no light was on, and jungkook began to doubt taehyung was even home, until...
taehyung appeared out of the living room, being shoved against the wall by his "lover".
the younger was shocked to see soohun's lips being pressed on taehyung's, but what surprised him even more:taehyung pushed him away strongly. "get out! you're disgusting! i can't believe i trusted you and was even in love with you!"
