Jihye or preferably Joy had the upperhand to silence the chaotic class as it appears that the class president, Hyunjin was probably at the staffroom.
Having the duty of the class vice-president, Joy need to make sure class 2-3 need to be in order and if possible disciplined at all times.
"Quiet!" Joy raised her voice, attempt to get the attention of the 23 classmates.
She felt proud when she succeed as now all eyes were on her, some look in disbelief for interrupting their gossip time, some look at her with wide eyes and afraid of what comes next while the other plainly rubbed their head innocently.
Taking a deep breathe she went to the front and face her fellow classmates before giving the stern look,
"I know school only just started but please get your manners. Have you forgotten that there will be a spot check by the disciplinary teacher in 10 more minutes?"
Everyone dropped what they were holding, knowing that they had forgot about the serious matter. No one likes the uptight walking bomb, Mr. Zhu.
"What are you waiting for?" Joy added and the whole class scrambled to their own seat, checking if they had bring something by mistake or basically make themselves look presentable and appropriate.
The class's door slides open and everyone stopped on their track, fear of getting caught by Mr. Zhu but when it's only Hyunjin who came, they sighed in relief.
Walking inside, Hyunjin whistled and grinned, looking at his classmates busying themselves. He glanced at Joy before patting her shoulder,
"I don't know what you do but nice work, Vice-president Park Jihye."
Joy took a few step away from him before glaring,
"I've told you to called me Joy."
"If everyone's calling you Joy, it wouldn't be much special, isn't it Jihye?" Hyunjin let out his tongue and do that 'merong' thing.
Joy tried to calm down and thought to herself, "It took a lot of restraint on my part not to hit him."
Irritated, she went back to her seat and as for Hyunjin, he seems excited when he received a text from his favorite senior and was busy thinking on what to reply.
Unfortunately, his seat was beside her, much to her dislike. She looked at him and look away swiftly when Hyunjin winked in her way before taking his seat happily.
"Pshh, why does he look all happy with his phone? As if he's texting with the love of his life."
Joy took out her literature book and opened to a page full of hanja. She smiled slightly as she was able to read the transcript, thanks to her mother that keep a keen interest towards languages and is a professor in one of Korea's best university.
Joy and two of her elder brother was born into a family with a loving Chinese mother and a Korean architect father. They used to lived in Philippines for ten years. And at the age of 12, her family decided to move back to Korea.
The time's ticking slowly as she patiently wait for Mr. Zhu's arrival and she fight the urge to plug in her earpiece. Her feet was tapping in time to the clock.
She look down her wristwatch, the disciplinary teacher will be here in a few more second.
And the awaited dreadful moment has come, Mr. Zhu strode inside the class and the students went all silent, froze in their seat. Only sound of footsteps of the disciplinary teacher can be heard.
"Ahh, you all had been prepared, I assume?" Mr. Zhu snickered before inspecting every table row and instructed the students to put their bag on the table.

Time passes by and Mr. Zhu leave after confiscating Cheolsu's ouija board, Yoojung's electronic flies swatter, Wooseok's fake insect toy and Heejin's life-size unicorn plushie.
"That was a present from my woo-nicorn," Heejin pouted and feeling guilty for carrying the plushie even to school.
Joy looked at her and comforted her, promising her that she'll get it back for her.
Hyunjin stretched his numb arms and rolled up his sleeve to his elbow,
"Thankfully, Mr. Zhu didn't confiscate my heart away."
The two girl looked at him weirdly before scoffed at his ridiculous remark. Joy snatched his blazer on his table and tossed it over his head.
Walking away, Joy mumbled, "I just hope that I got a spot for the Glee Club."
