Megan's POV

After Leela had told us my uncle hired her we went out for a celebratory dinner on me. Leela had kept on thanking me the whole time for getting her an interview with my uncle and I have to admit I was going to scream if she said the words 'thank you' again. "Order whatever you guys want." I say. "I'm helping pay." Leela speaks up I smirk and shake my head. Little did they know the restaurant already had my card information to charge when we were done ordering for the night. I could actually afford it right now after finishing up on an old car at the shop. Working on classics was always my favorite and the pay was much better. Haley was on her phone the entire time and it was a bit irritating. She hadn't said a word since we left the shop. Leela was trying to make conversation with Jane but she was completely ignoring her. I felt bad for Leela. I know what it's like to have the one person you want not be interested in you at all but at least Jane stays around and didn't completely cut herself out of Leela's life like Haley did me. It sucks falling in love with someone who will never love you back. I feel for Leela. Although my feelings for Haley haven't went away completely, they weren't as strong as before. "Jane. Can I talk to you?" I ask getting up before she can answer. I walk outside and light up a cigarette as she follows slowly behind me. I turn to face her and sigh. "You know Leela likes you. She's a good person and if you don't like her the same, quit stringing her along. Quit being a bitch to her all the time." I say sternly. Jane looks a bit shocked and she clears her throat. "I'll talk to her soon." is all she says. I nod content with her answer and we head back in to eat. Throughout the night Jane actually talked a bit with Leela and I could tell it made Leela happy.

After we had ate we went back to Haley and Jane's house. Leela wasn't to happy that I paid for everything but she was thankful. Jane surprisingly let Leela stay in her room for the night and Haley and I went to hers. "Why have you been so quite all afternoon?" I ask fed up. She wasn't even looking at me. She just shrugs her shoulders. I wait five minutes for her to actually talk before I speak up. "Fine. Be like that. I'm sleeping on the fucking couch." I mumble walking out. As I head downstairs and into the living room it's already occupied by none other than Leela herself. "Scoot." I tell her sitting down. "Looks like we both got booted out tonight and It was my first time in. How messed up is that?" she sighs. I shake my head and correct her. "I left on my own. I'm tired of being ignored." I tell her. Leela nods her head and passes me some chips. I didn't even realize how tired I was until someone was tapping on my shoulder. It was Haley rocking a bit on her feet. "Can I talk to you?" she mumbles quietly.  I nod sleepily and slowly get up rubbing my eyes stumbling after her into the kitchen.  "I'm sorry for being rude and ignoring you I just haven't had a good day." I instantly regret asking why after she mentions a guy she's liked for a while now not showing any interest in her and that is how I ended up in a two almost three hour conversation about the guy and a huge headache afterwards. I wanted to say something along the lines of "it sucks liking someone who doesn't like you back, doesn't it?" but instead I just said a simply "I'm sorry Hales." I hate talking about the assholes she always goes for. They all end up treating her like shit but she never learns. It like a pattern that always happens. I'm hoping one of these days she likes someone who isn't an asshole. It would be unrealistic for me to ever hope that person would be me.
