Charlie managed to make it through the day, only dozing off in one of her classes once. She didn't quite enjoy sitting through lectures and math problems though, which did tempt her to sleep. She tried to, she really did, but she just couldn't go off to dreamland.

Lunch eventually came, and she quickly stopped by her locker to grab her food for their lunch period. She was looking forward to it all day, since she skipped breakfast and her stomach wouldn't stop growling.

She walked into the busy cafeteria, trying to locate her friends' table. There they were, sitting at a table nearby the middle. A smile grew on her features, and she sped walked over to them, pulling out a chair and plopping herself into it. "What's up, chumps?"

Penny giggled, greeting Charlie with a grin and a wave. "We were just talking about kumquats!"

"Actually, Pinkie, you were talking about kumquats," replied Jackie as she bit into her apple and rolling her eyes. "You talk about the most random stuff, sugarcube."

The curly haired blonde just laughed in response, digging into her lunchbox, which was filled with all kinds of sweets and baked goods.

"Darling, how do you manage with just an all sugar diet?" Rarity tilted her head, examining Pinkie with curiosity and awe. "Surely you eat other foods, right?"

Penny dismissed her question with a wave of her hand, nibbling on a cupcake. "Anywhooooo, you were late this morning, Dashie Washie!"

Charlie groaned, taking out her peanut butter and jelly sandwich, taking a bite. "It's not my fault, some dude ran-"

She was interrupted by someone being pushed into her chair, quickly turning around to tell this person off. Just as she was about to open her mouth, she stopped, immediately recognizing the boy. "Hey, you're the guy who ran into my this morning!"

Sure enough, he nodded his head, pushing his glasses up his nose as they slid off. "Yeah, sorry 'bout that. I was in a rush. Forgot my sonic at home."

"Your what?"

"My sonic," he repeated somewhat impatient. "Kinda like a screwdriver, not really. It's more sonic-y. Hard to explain, but it is quite handy."

He was quite lanky and tall, wearing a suit that looked quite out of place in a school where everyone wore casual clothing. His converse were quite an odd pairing with the suit, they looked.... Sandy.

Charlie raised her brows, both at his strange ensemble and his explanation about a sonic or whatever. "More sonic-y? Like, Sonic the Hedgehog?"

"No, not Sonic! Why on Earth would you think about Sonic the Hedgehog?"

"'Cause you said something about Sonic," she replied with a smirk, amused by how worked up he was getting. He seemed quite passionate about this screwdriver.

"I meant- Ugh, never mind!" The strange teen walked away, grumbling to himself as he did so.

Charlie turned back to her friends, soon bursting into a fit of laughter. Her laughter was quite infectious, as all of them ended up laughing along with her, which did earn them stares from passerby.

"What was that?" She said once she managed to regain her composure, wiping her eyes. That guy was strange. Honestly, who'd get all riled up over a sonic screwdriver?
