After a few weeks of doing missions in town with our new armor, we've all leveled up quite a bit. Oh, and apparently did all the missions available...
"What do you mean we did all the missions?" Blue asks the old, round dwarf at the mission board.
"I meant what I said, lady. Go ta a higher level place so that you can gain more experience!" Hendrickson and I look at each other as Blue visibly stiffens.
And
here
we
go...
"Lady?" Blue asks with criticizing eyes. To break the tension, and to prevent Blue from getting into a mini-war with the NPC, I speak up.
"Alright, so where should we go?" I ask the stoic-faced dwarf as he proudly pulls out a map.
"Ta dwarven lands up te top, towards te northeast, ta lands are cold but beautiful," he explains with nostalgia in his heavy dwarf accent, "many caves and caverns to explore! Filled'twith riches and surprises!" He then looks at me, "tere aren't many magey places for you lad, but tere are plenty of weapons ta go around! Lots ta drink as well!" He then laughs at his last statement.
"Lots to drink you say?" Hendrickson leans forward.
After spending a few weeks with the guy... I have noticed that he is... very unreliably reliable. Especially as a leader.
However, somehow, someway, everything he does turns out to have a positive effect. No matter how stupid it is.
Accidentally poured Khetsuu's lava potion in the kitchen and melted everything to a crisp? Deadly fungi spores were beginning to bloom and could have potentially killed all of us. (Khetsuu: It's not my fault! I just forgot that their spores could harm us!)(Cecilia: And you forgot you brought it into the kitchen?)(Khetsuu: . . . Precisely!)(Cecilia: *kicks into a tree*)
Got hooked into a scam? Somehow ended up beating up the entire place and got everything they had.
Oh. And the scammers got punished by the higher-ups. With Hendrickson got paid for helping.
Despite Blue and I actually being the ones to beat up the place as he was passed out on the ground.
But whatever. At least I got to see Blue breathe fire onto scammers and watched as they ran straight to the authorities... That was worth it.
"Well," I slurp the remaining berry smoothie, "guess we're heading towards the dwarven lands for quests."
A passerby drops their items with a loud bang. "What?! You're heading there already?" The eccentric hooded figure, otherwise known as Khetsuu, joins in on our conversation at the Newbie Cafe.
"What are you doing here?" Blue asks while sipping her mango smoothie, and I just stare at the mountains of items on the ground.
"I was getting stuff ready so that Kira and I could go gambling with-"
"What? And you didn't invite me?" The unreliably reliable leader who is somehow the protagonist interrupts.
I sigh before placing my delicious milkshake on the tan marble table and look at the beautiful scenery. The cafe's sign is surrounded by grape vines, and different vibrant flowers and other vines surround the railing. Really a nice cafe...
[Now to release mean Kiri and attack!]
"And I thought I told you I didn't want to follow your bad decisions?" I glare at Khetsuu.
