The sun was still high in the sky, a few clouds linger the sky and a slight breeze blew. (Y/N) was walking home from school, finally the dreadful Monday was coming to an end. Not for a few hours but at least the hard part was out of the way. Blasting obnoxiously loud music in her earbuds, (Y/N) walked home. Going down the same path she's been taking since freshman year. Nothing new and nothing worth paying attention too. Of course, until she gets to a neighbor's house.

A couple of cats sat on the porch as they stared at the other students walk by and the cars drive by. Having no intention of moving. Until (Y/N) stopped on the sidewalk in front of the porch. Crouching down, she extend her hand and called out to the cats. Of course the both of them coming towards her, use to her petting them. She'd learned the cats' name awhile back, though she never asked the lady what their names were. She just told her when she came out and (Y/N) was petting them.
Penelope and Jackson.
The girl just smiled as she pet the cats, then heard a squeal. Curious, (Y/N) turned down her music a bit and turned to the side to see a girl. She was covered in pink and black. Her hair was frizzy but have a few strands of curls. She also had a pair of big circular glasses.

"They're so cute, are they yours?" The stranger asked.

Choking on her words, (Y/N) just shook her head. "N-no I just pet them when I'm walking home." She informed her.

The other girl just nodded her head then crouched down besides (Y/N) petting the other cat. "So, do you live in this neighborhood?" She asked.

(Y/N) nodded her head in response, struggling a to get some sort of words out. As much as she wanted to be more social, she just couldn't help but stay quiet.

"Nice, I'm just visiting with some friends. Well. Right now it's just me, they're coming tomorrow." The stranger spoke. "Oh, by the way. I'm Ani." She introduced herself.

"Ah, I see." (Y/N) spoke, not really knowing how to add onto the conversation then she heard Ani introduce herself. "I-I'm (Y/N)." She introduced herself as well.

"Nice to meet you." Ani spoke cheerfully.

'What a bubbly girl.' (Y/N) thought then turned away to pet the cat once last time and stood up. "So, uh, how long are you staying here?" She asked curiously.

"A couple of weeks at least." Ani spoke then ended up standing as well. "We have a few places we like to visit here in (H/T)."

"What places are those?" (Y/N) asked.

Ani begin to list over the popular places that tended to bring tourist. Even though it was amazing to see to someone who's never seen these places, (Y/N) didn't think these places were super amazing. Well, then again she did go to these places about every other weekend with a couple of her friends. "Oh nice." (Y/N) spoke. "I hope you and your friends have a fun time." She spoke with a small smile.

"Thanks!" Ani spoke happily. Then looked at the backpack on (Y/N), "Are you in college?" She asked.

(Y/N) cocked in eyebrow then remembered the weight on her back. "Oh no, I'm in high school." She answered.

"Oh! Well, nice are you a senior?" Ani asked.

"No, almost though." (Y/N) spoke, she didn't get out of school until June and at the moment it was March. So pretty close.

"Really? You look like you're 19 though." Ani spoke rather surprised.

"Oh, uh, thanks I guess?" (Y/N) shrugged her shoulders and chuckled at her assumption.

"Well, it be cool if you could possibly show us around this weekend, since, you know you live her." Ani spoke, suggesting (Y/N) join her and her friends.

"Really? I mean, we've just met." (Y/N) spoke. "Of course I don't mind, but didn't you say you had someone who already lived here? Why not have them show you around instead?" She added.

"She has work all week, plus she doesn't go out very often." Ani explained.

"Well, sure then. I just have to see if I'm free this weekend." (Y/N) spoke. Of course she was free. It was just one of her go to answers.

"I hope you are, oh if you don't mind. Can I get your number or some sort of content to stay connected?" Ani asked.

"U-um Yeah, of course." (Y/N) spoke. She knew you don't usually give your number out to someone you just met, though if Ani ended up being too weird. She could always block her number.

Ani added the number to the phone and added (Y/N)'s name. "Awesome, I'll text you later tonight about the plans." She spoke.

"Yeah definitely, I'll text you later." (Y/N) spoke then heard Ani excuse herself and watched her leave to wherever. The looked back at her phone, "What am I getting myself into?" She asked herself. Then shrugged her shoulders. Maybe this was going to end well and she'd make some new friends for about two weeks then probably never talk to them ever again after they leave.
