Mercy’s POV:
Oh, I already had a plan.
It wasn’t a full-proof one, but it was a sort of plan.
“The girls are on the other sides of the mirror, right?” I asked, already knowing the answer.
“I’m not going to answer that,” he replied stiffly.
I waved in the mirror anyways, knowing the girls were watching me. I wanted to tease them, have them hate me even more, for my plan to work better later. “Hello girls! I’ve showered with your husband Cynthia, and I’ve showered with your boyfriends. Ringo has made several advances on me, and-”
Before I got to continue, he yelled “Okay, we know you’re guilty. We can do this the hard way, or the easy way.”
“You know people like me, I always love seeing the hard way.” I smiled cheerily, and he just became more annoyed. I could tell he had no idea what to do, he had no power. He will never find them without my help, and I won’t do anything until I get a deal. In reality, he was in the chair and I was the intimidating one.
“Listen, you seem like a nice girl…” he began.
“No, I don’t. You’re not going to guilt trip me into letting them go, that’s not going to work.” He started at me again, and blinked a couple of times. “What the matter chief? Cat got your tongue?”
“Tell us where they are, and we won’t expand your sentence.”
“Ah, chief, you really think I want that? Give me something good! You won’t just leave them down there to starve to death, and that’s after Paul suffocates to death.” I stood up and walked to the mirror. “That’s right Jane, it is Jane, correct? Anyways, I put your boyfriend in a hidden place, even more hidden than the original place the rest of them are. His clock is ticking and he’s got, I don’t know, 47 hours left? Tick-tock.”
I walked back to my chair and sat down with a smirk. “Don’t say a word to me again unless it’s a deal.”
Cynthia’s POV:
I hated this girl with a burning passion.
An officer had taken Julian into one of the child-safe places, away from this chaos. How I longed to hug him, tell him his daddy’s still alive and that it’ll be all okay. The truth is though, he is alive, but not for long if they don’t make a deal.
Poor Jane, she has it the worst. As soon as she heard Paul had about 47 hours, she broke. Maureen moved away with her to help her calm down, and it was just Pattie and I looking into the one-way glass. I bet if she saw what she had just done to Jane, her devil’s smirk would grow bigger. There’s just no dealing with crazy.
When the officer came out, I walked up to him, on the verge of tears myself. “Just make a deal with her!” I begged. “This doesn’t need to carry on longer than tonight!”
“It’s not that simple,” he began. Without expanding, he walked off. I turned to Pattie. “I need to see Julian, are you okay here by yourself?” She nodded, and off I strut.
Pattie’s POV:
I was staring at the woman, apparently called Mercy, when suddenly she shifted in her chair and stood up. She jumped onto the table, and I was about to get someone, when she said “If I’m correct, it should just be you Pattie, correct? If it’s just you, knock once.”
I didn’t know what to do. Maybe if I don’t respond, she won’t talk. I didn’t respond, and that’s when she smiled and said “Excellent, it is just you! Listen, I’m leaving a note for you in lipstick under the table, tell anyone and I’ll be sure they never see the light of day again. Trust me, I’ll know if you told.”
