I haven't heard from Ashton or Michael since this morning which is perfectly fine with me. I don't need to deal with them right now, my headache just now went away.

The game is about to start and I'm honestly ready to get it over with.

-

After the game I drove calum to the party at Adams. As much as I didn't want to go, I kind of wanted to deal with it and maybe get buzzed in the process. Yeah, it probably wasn't the best idea, but my conscience really wasn't here to stop me.

I was only going to be inside long enough to get a beer or two and go to the backyard where the bonfire was.

I grabbed what I needed and walked to the back door, the cool air greeted me and I felt instant relief.

All I had to do was avoid Adam and Samantha, but it was easier said than done. After standing by the fire a while and already downing two cans of beer, my relief was gone.

"Luke! You made it!" I heard the high pitch squeal come from my left and I rolled my eyes. Samantha came up and rested her hand on my shoulder and batted her eyelashes up at me.

I sighed and took another swig of the beer in my hand.

"That game was unbelievable, I've never seen you play like that before," her fingers trailed down my arm as she spoke.

I scoffed, "I had anger to manage."

She giggled like it was the funniest thing I had ever said.

"Hey man, there you are," Calum came up, he snorted when he saw the girl clinging to my arm, "look what the whore dragged in," he murmured low enough for just me to hear and took a drink from his cup.

Samantha saw him and her face turned to a disgusted expression and she rolled her eyes. Everyone knew they hated each other, but their arguments almost looked like flirting. "Oh, Calum as if my night couldn't get any better," she narrowed her eyes at him.

He offered her a sarcastic smile and turned back to me.

She huffed, "Luke if you need me," she winked, I'll be over there with Mel." She trotted off to her cult- I mean friends, and I sighed in relief.

"Why don't you tell her to fück off yet?" Calum threw his empty cup to the ground and kicked it.

"She's not one to catch hints," I shook my head and took another sip.

"Whatever, man. Oh, Adam came outside, figured you're still avoiding him, wanna head inside?" He nudged my shoulder.

"Yeah, I could use another drink."

We headed back toward the house and made it to the deck, but we didn't get by Adam's notice.

"Hemmings, well well, would've never thought you'd actually show up," Adam squeezed in between me and Calum and gripped my shoulder.

"Well, Miller, didn't have anything better to do," I finished my drink and tried not to slam it down on the patio table. Calum and I both turned to him mostly because I wasn't comfortable with him so close.

Adams gaze shifted to something or someone and my eyes followed his.

Jade Lahey.

Jade was my ex-girlfriend and of course it was Adam's too. Jade and I dated for a year and we broke up over something stupid. And a month later she started talking to Adam and they dated for a few months. I never really knew why they stopped dating, but I didn't care. Or I told myself I didn't care.

I gritted my teeth and glanced at Calum and his eyes were wide, almost as if he knew what was coming.

Adam turned back and faced me with a stupid smirk on his face and that almost made me pounce I him right then.
