Chapter 1

Chapter 1
It was my typical morning hearing my alarm go off at 6 and getting out of the bed 30 minutes later.  Once I had finally gotten out of the bed I picked out my outfit, some black skinny jeans and a black t-shirt.  I then went to the bathroom to brush my dark sandy colored hair and brush my teeth, straighten my hair and put some mascara on.  The typical morning.

I then run downstairs realizing I only have 20 minutes to get to school and I would have to walk so I would be getting to school right before the late bell rang.  I put my converse on grabbed a banana and ran out of the door.

Present tense
I now have 5 minutes to get to school and I still have a 10 minute walk so yeah thats great.  I then hear a car pull up next to me and I look over to find my best friend, Ashton, he rolls down the window and says "looks like someone is gonna be late." I roll my eyes and laugh knowing he was messing with me.  I open the door and get in giving him a big hug and he gave me a big kiss on the cheek.

Ok lets take a pause.  Ashton is my best friend and I have been friends with him since kindergarten.  We literally live at each others houses.  If he's not at mine I'm at his and if I'm not at his he's at mine.  Ashton is pretty good looking guy not gonna lie.  He has beautiful silky brown hair that is so soft.  He has bright blue eyes, like me.  He is literally the best.

Back to the car ride
After our greeting Ashton says "Em, why didn't you just call and ask for a ride?  You know I would've come and got you."  He said with a smile. " I don't know I just didn't want you to have to go out of your way."  "Em... we literally live on the same street." " ok fine I didn't want your girlfriend to be all jealous that you are taking me to school." "W hat cmon she knows your my bestie.  I really don't think she cares." "mhmmm I'm sure she doesn't" we move on from this conversation and start jamming to some music till we get to school.  When we finally arrive to school I see Ali, Ashton's lovely girlfriend (i hope you all knew that was sarcasm), when she sees me get out of the car she gives me a death stare.  "Hey Ash I'm gonna get to class." I hope that he will just say bye and let me leave, but thats not Ashton.  He walks over and gives me a hug, might I add that he gives the best hugs in the entire world, and kisses my forehead " I'll see you at Lunch Em." "Alright later Ash." I say as I turn around. " love youuuuuu" he says in a babyish voice making me laugh.  I turn back around to see him still looking at me and smiling     " love you tooooo" I say back in the same voice he had used.  He laughs and waves as I turn around I hear Ali say "what are you doing?!" And Ash say "what are you talking about?"  "with her....."  " Emma?" "yeah." And their voices fade out as get further and further from them.
I finally get to my locker and see my other bestie, Lizzie, we give each other a hug and she says "so how mad was Ali that you rode to school with Ashton?"  " I'm not too sure I didn't stick around to find out.  I'm sure I'll find out later though, don't worry." She gives me a look that says I'm sorry.  She hugs me again and tells me she needs to get to class, as do I.

First period I have math.  I hate math but I'm glad its first period so I can get it over with.  I walk and take my seat in the very back.  I sit down right as the bell rings.  The teacher starts to write some formula that makes absolutely no sense to me.  Just as he finishes writing the door opens.  I finish writing down the formula and look up to see that the reason the door had come open was a beautiful one.  Mr. Jones says "We have a new student.  This is Blake Roads."  Blake Roads was absolutely gorgeous.  He had jet black hair and emerald green eyes.  He had to be 6'3".  He was a wearing black ripped skinny jeans and a white t-shirt that said nirvana and some black vans.  He had great style.

Mr. Jones told Blake to find a seat.  To my surprise he sits down next to me.  I felt really nervous.  I look over at him and smile.  "Hi, I'm Emma!"  "Hey, I'm Blake."  He shakes my hand, which is weird because who does that anymore?  But I shake his hand back and just sit there smiling like an insane person.  I turn back to listen to Mr. Jones and take notes.

At the end of class I try and make conversation with Blake.  "Hey, again." I laugh and look down feeling awkward he smiles and replies. "hi!"  He says very smoothly and kinda drags it out, making butterflies swarm in my stomach.  "What class do you have next?" I ask "history.  And I have no idea where that is so." He laughs a little.  "I can show you its on my way to English." "ok awesome, thank you" "yeah no problem!" He is very easy to talk to and we talk for the 3 minutes it takes to get to class.  Once we reach his class I say "Well this is it.  Enjoy History Mrs. Bradford is super cool and chill." "Phew after Mr. Jones I need cool and chill." He and I laugh. "that is very true Mr. Jones is dull.  Ok so I gotta get to class but it was very nice meeting you."  "you too.  Thanks again." "it was no problem really."  I smile and turn around heading to English.

After English and science its finally lunch.  I grab lunch and see Ashton waving me over to sit with him.  I walk over there and sit down next to him.  He hugs me from the side since he was sitting down and I return the hug.  I see Lizzie and wave her over.  She sits next to me.  Then of course Ali comes over and sits next to Ashton.  She gives me an evil glare to which I smile at.  I see Blake sitting alone and I feel really bad so I tell Ali that I will be right back.  I walk over to where he was sitting and ask if he would like to come sit with me he smiles and says sure I would love to.  We get back to the table and as we are getting back I see Lizzie give me an "oooooooo you getting yourself a man look" and I smile at her.  I see Ashton look up and he has a weird look on his face and I cant tell why so I ignore it.  " Guys this is Blake.  Blake this is Ashton and Lizzie" they wave and I hear someone clearing their throat. I look over to see Ali looking at me waiting for me to introduce her. "oh yeah. How could I forget. Thats Ali." I say with no excitement whatsoever.  He sits across from me and I ask " so how are you liking school here so far?" "well I mean its school but its going pretty good!" After a little while of talking Blake tells me that the needs to go to the library and get a few books and Ashton says "Hey Em, I think I'm gonna go for a drive.  Do you want to come?" "What about Ali" "she went somewhere with her friends" "oh ok.  Sure let me run to the bathroom real fast" "Alright I'll be waiting in the car." "ok be right there"i say as a run to the bathroom.

I go to the bathroom and am washing my hands when I hear voices.  It sounds like Ali and like 3 other girls.  Great I cant deal with this right now, I say to myself as I finish washing my hands.  I quickly open the door to leave the bathroom hoping that I would miss Ali, but noooooo.  She walks in with her friends right as I was walking out.  "Well well well. Look what we have here." She says "What do you want now."  "i want you to stay away from Ashton" "I hate it for you but thats not going to happen.  He's my best friend.  And thats all."  "oh please.  I see the way you look at him" I roll my eyes.  I then feel a burning sting on my arm.  I look down to see blood and Ali holding a knife "What the he-" I was cut off when she slaps me so hard that I hit my head on the wall.  "stay away or it will be worse next time" everything starts to blur and then suddenly I see blackness. 

I wake up to someone shaking me.  I open my eyes to see Blake.  "what happened?!  Are you ok??"  "oh- uh um... I must've slipped" I knew that wasn't what had happened but I couldn't say what had actually happened.  "Emma you have a slit on your wrist.  You didn't slip.  What happened for real?"  "its ok I'm fine." He looks at me as tho he doesn't believe me. "Blake really I'm fine."  He drops and says ok and helps me up.  "How'd you know I was in here?"  "oh yeah.  I heard you tell Ashton you were running to the bathroom.  After you had been in here for ten minutes he started getting worried and asked if had seen you.  I told him I would help look for you and this is the first place I thought of.  Ashton seems really worried tho its been like 30 minutes." "i guess I should go tell him I'm fine.  Thank you for finding me." I laugh and so does he "of course no problem!"  We walk out of the bathroom and I see Ashton looking at his phone worriedly.  He looks up and sees me and runs to me.  He hugs me and for a really long time.  He doesn't say anything for a few minutes.  I noticed that Blake had walked off because I heard Ashton say thank you to him.  Ashton lets go of me after about 5 minutes and looks at me. "what happened?!  Where were you?  You had me scared to death."  "I'm so sorry.  I must've slipped in the bathroom." I could see it on his face that he knew I was lying.  "Emma, you have a cut on your wrist.  What actually happened?"  "Nothing. Really.  Everything is fine.  I promise." He still knows somethings up but drops it and hugs me again while kissing my forehead.  "you wanna skip the rest of the day?" "yes!!!" "ok lets go back to my house and watch a movie or something." "ok sounds good" I say as I give him a tight hug.  We walk to his car with his arm around me.
