Chapter 4
I avoided Ali all day which meant I hadn't seen Ashton a lot.  I was going to ride home with Ash but when I went out and was headed to his car I saw Ali with him.  I decided that it would be best if I just walked home, so I texted Ashton and told him I would walk home.  He didn't text me back so I just headed to my house.  About halfway through my walk home I felt my phone buzz.  I looked to see a text from Ash:
Im so sorry Em:( Ali wanted to argue today so I had to deal with that.  Are you home?

Me:      
           That's ok don't worry abt it:) I'm sorry you had to deal with that.  Im still walking ;) lol

Ash:
             I'll come get you.  I'm leaving school rn. Omw :]

Me:
             Thanks Ash:)

Ashton pulled up a few minutes after he said he had left.  I go around and get in.  "Im so sorry.  Its too cold for you to have to walk."  "its ok your hoodie is pretty warm.  For real though its ok." He just looked at me apologetically.  We went to  a cafe to get something warm to drink.  I went and got a table while Ashton went and got our drinks.  It was such a cute cafe, we come here all the time.  It reminded me of one in Paris.  I realized that it had started to rain and I just looked outside, almost in a daze.  After a few minutes Ashton comes over with our drinks "here you go my lady" he says as he bows like he's my servant.  I laugh at him and take it from him "why thank you kind sir" I say and he smiles.  He sits down and he just looks at me.  This was not unusual.  He does this all the time and I'm not sure why.  I think he is just trying to make me feel weird.  So I smile and he smiles back.  "so you know Blake?" His smile fades. "yeah I know him." "ok so today at lunch, he asked me out!" I say this trying to contain my excitement, but I don't think I did too good of a job.  "oh.... He did." I nod with a big smile on my face. "well I'm very happy for you." He looks down as if trying to come up with something to say. "he better treat you right.  And you better tell me if he doesn't so I can put him in his place." I laugh "don't worry you will definitely be the first person I come to." He smiles and changes the subject. "so speaking of lunch.... Why did you get so nervous when Ali came over?" "what?... I didn't get nervous." I say trying to be chill and sound normal.  "um.. yeah ya did.  Em I know you.  I know when you are scared or nervous and you were both today at lunch." "oh its nothing just trying not to make her jealous or anything." "You don't have to worry about that.  She isn't the jealous type.  She trusts me." How can he be so oblivious??  I cant tell him the truth because it would break his heart and then he might think I'm lying.  Even worse Ali might tell him that I like him.  I mean I've never told anyone that so she has no proof, but she could be all "its the way she looks at you" and then he might be like oh yeah she is so in love with me and I cant have that happen.  So I just don't tell him. "yeah but I just don't want her to feel that way." "you are too nice"i smile and we continue talking and laughing for about an hour.

We were leaving the cafe and when we go outside it is still raining.  I was expecting it to be freezing outside but it was surprisingly warm.  Ashton came outside after me "hey I'll go grab the car and pick you up so that you don't get wet." "nah its ok.  I like the rain.  But thank you." "alright" he says. I smile as I look up at the rain falling and getting my hair soaked.  I then feel my feet being swept off the ground and Ashton had picked me up and was spinning around.  We do this all the time when it rains because he knows how much I love it.  We were both laughing and playing like 7 year olds in the rain.  After all the spinning and messing around Ashton just hugs me.  This was a bit weird not gonna lie.  But I enjoyed it and embraced the hug.  We just hugged for about 5 minutes in the rain and it was so nice.  I pulled away because my phone was buzzing.  It was my mom. I answered the phone "hey sweetie" "hey mom whats up?" "you're gonna have to stay at Ashton's tonight" "ok thats fine. Why though?" "your dad and I have to go out of town for a business trip." "oh ok.  Well I love you.  Have fun." "i love you too honey." I hung up and looked at Ashton "is it ok if I stay your house tonight?" "oh cmon do you even have to ask?" I smile "ok thank you" "no problem.  Is there anything wrong though?" "my parents are just going on a business trip." "oh gotcha" he puts his arm around me and we walk to his car.  We both get in and go back to his house.
